Whenever i feel failure, or difficult time ahead, i watched the movie "Cinderella Man". I think James Braddock is truly an inspirational personality still alive in the hearts of people round the world. A true inspiration for poor countries, people, players and indeed people like me who are facing many problems and ups and downs in life. Thanks James

To Jim Braddock's family,

Just want to say that I watch the movie 120 times and I still can watch it if I have the time. I even have it in my Ipod and I watch it when I am in a plane travelling for work. You see, I do identified a lot with Jim Braddock's life as I am also an underdog and an immigrate coming into the US without any money or skills to work, but I learn how to work on what ever I could find with pride. I always feel a tight on my stomach, when Jimmy get a direct hit from Larsky and the mounth protector fly his mounth and landed on the ground. That scene was very strong for me as the only thing he was thinking about was his family and how he can protect his family and the scene of the past due and the empty bottle of "milk" very sad. At that point, win is the only option. His comeback on that fight was unforgetable.
Sorry for the long email, but I find your lives inspiring and I will always remember what your family endure in the 1930s and 1940s.

PS: One question, if I may. Do you recall what type of Irish Cap your did used to wear in the 1930s? In the movie Russel Crown wear it all the time, specially in the docks scene. Thanks!!!GF

I have seen the movie "Cinderella Man" at least 100 times. (I am watching it now) The life narrative of James Braddock depicted during the great depression has helped me pull through some of the toughest times of my life. What a story of inspiration during our "Great Recession" Mel Pruett

I am a great admirer of James J. Braddock because he was a real man of courage, integrity, character and true grit! I just want to say as a movie buff and collector that the movie Cinderella Man is the best movie I have ever seen. Talk about exciting! Russel Crowe was superb. Renee Zelwiger wss superb. The movie should have won Best Picture at the Academy Awards.

I saw the movie lastnight 'Cinderella Man' i cried, and cried, and cried some more. How moving was that movie?! I admire JJB for the man and husband that he was to his family. Greatly respected.

Jimmy Braddock is a man of the ages - I sometimes believe that we all could use a great man like Jimmy today - to help us through hard times. Jimmy will never be forgotten.

I have recently seen the movie about James J. Braddock and am deeply moved by it. Mr. Braddock was an incredible man not only as an athlete but as a solid man of integrity. I myself am going through hardship in this difficult economic time and Mr.Braddock's life story inspires me to be like him and make my second chance with courage and integrity. What a great man. I know he is in heaven and may God Bless his soul and his family always.

Thanks for the great web site. I just watched Cinderella Man yesterday and went to Google and found your site. What a GREAT movie. Jim Braddock's character comes out in the movie, the scene where he takes the salami back to the butcher and his returning the assistance money, what a guy. So many boxers turn to their fists when times get rough and end up in lots of trouble. Jim Braddock stood tall in the face of adversity and was a superb role model for his kids. Having grown up in Trenton, NJ I would have loved to have had the honor of meeting Jim. He was a Champion both in and out of the ring. May he rest in peace and May God bless his family.

Just wanted to say i'm doing a project based on the depression, and i've been researching a lot of James Braddock. I think he was an amazing person and he persevered in his sport to become a great boxer and uplift in a time where the country really needed it All the best wishes to his family!

I haven´t had the opportunity to wathe this movie before, oh mi god! a real integrate man!

This is one of the movies. I have seen it many, many times and I still tear up. Even after all they went through. Mr. Braddock went on to fight in the war. He was truly a blessed man. A man that blessed those around him as well.

I just watched the movie, I am 46 and going through a tough time following an auto accident that broke about 20 bones , 9 day coma, spleen and a 18 month recovery. I am inspired now to be more of what I need to be thank you , thank you.

I never really have been a big fan of sports, however , when the Movie came out, I watched it like many others, I am a fan of RC, but that is not wat keeps me watching this movie, my wife bought me the movie when it came out, and I have continued to watch it, not only because it is a great movie, but because of the determination can generate and what he can accomplish, it takes a genuine Man to defeat such conditions, Cheers to your Grandfather, JAMES BRADDOCK, A Great LAGECY.
