James J. Braddock, World Heavy-Weight Champion

Welcome to the official guestbook of the James J Braddock website. Due to spam, we have been forced stop guestbook entries.

Loved the movie. Never heard of him before, but have since bought a book about him also. It's so refreshing to see values I grew up with. They are so sorely lacking these days. He was truly a great family man and hero to his family, and many others. Ron Howard is wonderful and I hope he keeps making movies like this, as we all need hope in our lives. Thanks to all the cast for keeping this marvelous story alive!

I just came home from the theater with my entire family. I was so touched my the sacraficing spirit of Mr. Braddock. He is an excellant example of what true family values are. You should be proud of the movie and the man he was.

touching, inspiring, and thought provoking. If we could all take a little from this Man's life and apply it to our own -- it would be a better place. Thanks for sharing James J. Braddock's life and story with us.

I really enjoyed the movie, especially Russell Crowe's understated performance as Mr. Braddock. A great message about the importantance of family and Ron Howard is to be commended for always casting his father and brother in his movies. Thanks for a great movie going experience.

I respect your father and family. A very honorable man. A great boxer too. He was very proud of his family and that's what it's all about.

I just watched the Cinderella Man in a movie theatre just down a hill from James J Braddock's former home in North Bergen. The story was heart wrenching and truly deserving of being on the silver screen. I am proud that a man of such integrity lived in the town I now call home. Thank You

Haven't seen the film, but what a great story. We could use another Braddock because Bush is leading us into another great depression.

Went with my 74 year old father, James J Lynch (another JJBraddock namesake) to see the Cinderella Man. Exceptional! My father's first cousin, Mary Whittaker was married to Jimmy's brother Joe Braddock. My father recalls Jimmy visiting my father's family in Chelsea, Mass when he was in Boston for a fight. He gave my Uncle, who was 7 at the time, a pair of boxing gloves. My father couldn't have been named more appropriately, he was and is the same father and family man Jimmy was. Thanks so much for sharing the story!!

If Chuck Wepner really left that message he should choke on his words. Mr. Braddock was a true hero and I come from Bayonne but my heart belongs to Jimmy J

I just came back from seeing the movie. I must say I'm not a fan of boxing, but after seeing the story of James Braddock I absolutely loved it. What a courageous and loving family man he is. Thanks Ron Howard you made it all happen for us who didn't know James Braddock. :-)

After seeing the movie last night I was sad that I didn't know this man personally. My husband and I both agreed that not only was this an inspirational story told to us, but a very touching love story at that. Thank you Mr. Braddock for being a true man - for loving your wife and children relentlessly and for giving us all something to aspire to!

I saw the movie twice and probably will see it again. I was able to get a quick glimpse of Howard, his wife and some other family members at the New York City premier.
I hope you kids took good care of those turtles. I didn't hear Russell's Aussie accent kick in but at times hs voice sure reminded me of my Dad's New Yorkese. Thank you.

I saw the movie last night. I hate boxing films but just loved this film. I hated "Million Dollar Baby", but this was different. This was about a wonderful man who I came to love during the course of the film. The cast was fabulous and the direction excellent but mainly it was Jim Braddock himself that captured our imagination. What a wonderful person. Thanks for this website.

I found the movie and Jim's life story to be very inspirational. He was a true champion of boxing and I for one wish modern day boxers would try to emulate Mr Braddock's class and humility.
