Cinderella Man is one of my favorite movies. He was quite a man. I know his children are very proud of him and their Mom.

What a great, inspirational story. It's easy to get down due to some modern circumstances but when put into historical context, we've got nothing to complain about.

What a great movie, a great portrayal of a great man. At first I thought the movie was fictional but I saw it was not at the end. James Braddock inspired hope in a time of great suffering, we need more men like him. Awesome guy!

Found this site by accident. Former resident of Guttenberg, NJ and spent lots of days at James Braddock Park in No. Bergen, NJ. I lthoroughly enjoyed "Cinderella Man", one of the best sport movies I've ever seen. Wish I knew Braddocks's addresses in Nol. Bergen and Guttenberg as a frame of reference. If anyone knows , please advise.

I wanted to let you know that as a US History teacher I use the film to introduce the Great Depression unit. No matter how hard I try, nothing has the impact that the movie does. My students often cry and in their surveys mention that this film was the most memorable thing of the year. I wish I could've talked w/ Mr. Braddock, he was/is a true inspiration.

Thank you so much for this site. I am a 32 year old 199 lb golden glover, and once I learned about Mr. Braddock, through the book and the movie, I have ranked him as my favorite boxer...him and Archie Moore. I'm 1/2 irish, but bigger than that - my immigrant family was very affected by the depression, and I know now what he meant to the country. And, also, my right hand is strong and my footwork is slow...

I've been bedridden with a severe degenerative spinal disease, and have watched all of the "chick flicks" over and over. Last night my husband came in with his boxes of CD's and we went through them; him telling me which ones I would enjoy. When he told me that "Cinderella Man" was about boxing, I was a little hesitant to watch it since I really don't like it. I started to watched it, and was entranced by the story - including the family life, the suffering through the Great Depression, etc - and I didn't know whether it was a true story or not. Everytime he fought though, they had the location and date under it and I started to think that this must be a true story. I watched it right to the end, as he wiped Max Baer's butt and I had to see if James J. Braddock truly was a boxer from the 30's. I went online and there, before my eyes, were pages and pages of links of GOOGLE and I read a few of them, watched a few of the rounds of fights, and was honored to know that this man, James J. Braddock was truly a hero, and now one in my eyes too.

We saw the movie in 2005 but last night watched it again through Netflix - even though we knew the movie, we were still on the edge of our seats. It's a sweet story about the family and sorrowful what they went through - yet we are glad they had such a wonderful blessing in the end. Today, because of watching the movie, we decided to look up his life and found this website. Great website - great memories for your family.
