Just saw Cinderella Man for the second time. Though I thought it was a great movie the first time I saw it, I liked it even better the second time ... one of the best movies I have ever seen. The acting was phenomenol. They don't make heroes like James Braddock any more. I can't imagine how anyone who didn't live through the Depression could understand the horrible deprivation and hardship people had to endure. To overcome the trials and tribulations he did, and do so with so much dignity, is truly inspirational. James Braddock's resiliance, toughness, humanity and character are qualities I wish I could emulate. He was a rare breed. We could use a role model like him now.

Like many before me, I have been absolutely inspired by Jim Braddock.
What he went through during the depression was terrible, yet he put his family before his pride.
An amazing man. What a fantastic world this would be if there were more people like him. God bless you, Jim.

I am a huge sports fan and history buff but for some reason had never heard the story of James J. Braddock until Cinderella Man and Jeremy Schaaps book came out. I recognized the name and knew he beat Baer but that was it.
It is a great American story and, thanks to books and websites like this, I'll make sure my son knows all about it.
Thanks for sharing your family history. You have much to be proud of.

My sincere respects to the Braddock family. Cinderella man was very well done. If only people today in North America knew how hard poverty and fighting together can be.
I just wonder if boxing was tougher then, or now?
God Bless

WOW! Great movie!
I grew up in Guttenberg, NJ an often visit. Guttenberg is the town next to West New York. I can't believe that Mr. Braddock shared the same sidewalks and school yards!
My family and I have spent wonderful days at James Braddock park and didn't really know who he was. I knew Mr. Baddock was a heavy weight champion. I never knew he was a champion of life!
Thank you for sharing your life with us.

Just finished the movie and words cannot discribe my admiration ang praise for the Bulldog. If I was to be born again I would surely want to be a boxer like Jimmy Braddock. A man that has been a blessing to people that struggle in this world.
