AMAZING! shwkd movie ,loved it the story and the fights and the fact that it was truely amazing. im only 12 and i loved it

Wow just got done with the movie. I have to say I loved it. I love the story behind the fight. How it came to be. For those others about his skill, well look at the stats. My father was a boxer durning the 40's and 50's. He admired the courage of Mr. Braddock. As for Max Baer, I suggest you read a book that his son wrote about this man. I feel the movie showed how this man was, from his sons point of view. The class of Braddock as a fighter is what BOXING is about. Men like Baer was nothing more then a bully. Great movie

I saw the movie last night did not like it. I grew up in the 30's and Braddock was not much of a fighter. Why do they not do a movie of Max Baer, he brought color in the boxing game when it needed so bad. Baer was a great guy funny, caring guy absolutely not what was in the movie.

I rented the movie yesterday and thought it was a true story. I never saw a movie that was so inaccurate.
True they portrayed Braddock as a good husband and father but a fighter he was terrible. When you do a true story tell the truth, the truth never hurts. Also, they portrayed Baer as a jerk that was wrong especially for his family that is still here. No wonder the movie was a bomb, noway could it ever be mentioned for a oscar.

I truly admire what a terrific family man he was and the movie did him justice especially in this day and age. We need more men like Jimmy Braddock-men who are men.

First of all, I feel that there was no other director to make this film but Ron Howard. He is such a master of his craft. Secondly, the story of this inspirational man and his family are just so endearing, I do think the Academy messed up when they overlooked this picture for the awards. I really feel this picture was extraordinarily accurate to Jim Braddock and his life before, during and after the depression. It really opened my eyes to things I didn't know about how people lived back in that day. And this website here is fantastic with information and pictures of the Braddock family and the movie. This really is wonderful!!!!!

Very good site, answered a lot of questions about this true family man and great american hero. I enjoyed the movie and the story of the will to win. Thanks

My Dad tought me to box when I was 8 years old, and I broke his nose. The Braddock story touched me deeply and brought back fond childhood memories of my struggling father and his 3 boy family. I had never heard of JB ,but whenever I think of boxing now...it won't just be the popular boxers..it will be only one...JJ Braddock. For those complaining about Max Bear's portrayal..relax..the movie was about Braddock..and only Braddock. It should have won an Oscar and Russell Crowe should have walked away with one also. Thank you Ron Howard. : )

Beautiful and sincere. There is no greater hero on this earth than a man who is a man supporting and loving his family. Thank you for bringing such a wonderful person to life for us all to model ourselves after. The world needs more strong men like James Braddock. I loved this.

I pay my tribute to the great man.. who´s story i did not knew...He´s an inspiration to all of us.. and make us believe the courage, honour and dignity are still great values to follow.

After reading all of these entries I feel lucky to have heard about Jimmy. I heard so much about him growing up and being raised by my grandfather who knew him, I felt like I knew him. The only thing about the movie was I knew the outcome of all the fights,having being told as a child.

When I first rented this movie, I had no idea who this movie was about. Then when they announced the name Jimmy Braddock. I stopped and thought I knew who this was. I called my Pop(Grandfather) on the phone and asked himwho his Lieutant was in the armed forces that he used to tell me stories about was and he told me Jimmy Braddock. I told him about the movie which became even more interesting to me. He was happy to hear that they made a big movie about his buddy as well as lieutenant Jimmy Braddock. My Pop being a Boxer Jimmy also taught him thingsabout boxing as well as life which in turned taught me. What a Beautiful Christmas Gift for my Pop The movie Cinderella Man. What an Inspiration?

Never have a looked up the history of anyone after seeing their biographical cinema. What a wonderful movie! Truly inspirational and uterly moving. Many things make you self-reflect and look inwards, but there are not many songs, poems, books or movies that make you truly want to instantly change your life. To take better care of your family, love your wife and children the way they should be and above all that live life to the fullest and know that when it is all over regret no longer has meaning! You have a wonderful Father, Uncle and Grandfather. Thanks........

While watching the movie about James, I remember hoping that the real James Braddock was at least 1/2 the man portrayed in the movie. After visiting this web site, it is hearting to know he was the real thing. It is great to see that he was a champion in life and the a champ in the ring.

My grandfather, who was an amateur boxer himself was luck enough to be at the Max Baer title fight and said it was the greatest fight he had ever seen!!!

i didnt really know or even hear about this incredible story. now Jim is my inspiration. i cant get over how much he overcame to survive. if there's one word that describes this man it's character. something this country sorely lacks. may God bless the memory of James J. Braddock!!

I had never heard of James J Braddock before this movie but after seeing the movie it made me want to know more about the man. My only wish is that there were more men like him in this world . Best wishes to the Braddock Family.
