Excellent movie. What a striking difference not just between the posturing "star" athletes of today and the honorable person that James Braddock was, but also the character strength of Americans in the 1930's vs. pampered Americans of today.

We just finished watching this movie and I had to look up Mr. Braddock on the web. What an incredible inspiration and role model. Thanks for sharing this story with so many!

Besides being a good tough fighter, a man with a sense of honesty, values and love for his family, James Braddock can serve as a model for modern athletes today.

The photo of Mr. Braddock on the left of the guestbook page bears a remarkable resemblance to the actor John Garfield. Evidently being in the ring did not mar his handsome dark irish looks. If the move was at all accurate it is apparent that Mr. Braddock was a good human being and loved his family dearly. His character traits were admirable and he was an honorable gentleman. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and I hope his family is proud of him and the portrayal of the love shared by their parents as depicted in the film. God bless the down to earth working class folks of that era who maintained their dignity throughout the difficult times they faced. It was a most heartwarming and uplifting film and the actors did a wonderful job of having the moviegoer in their corner feeling the emotions and cheering them on.

I really enjoyed learning the life story of James Braddock. Of course he was a great boxer, but more important is that he was a humble man of honor.

I just saw the movie, and am glad to have learned the story. I just had to check the web for more info, and was delighted to find how accurate the movie was. You can't beat great real life stories.

Truely a great movie from the heart!
My husband and I have watched it twicew withe the same energy to jump up and shout with the winning round. It still gives us goose-pimples of excitment. We will watch it again tomorrow. I watched the movie last night 1-7-06, I looked him up after watchin this movie. WOW what an amazing man! James Braddock is deffinately someone to be looked up to.

The respect I have for your grandfather puts me at a loss for words! He is such an admirable man. First, he used his great skills to be the "last hope" for people during the Depression. Then, he joined the U.S. military to go to war for our country. What more could anyone want in a person?

What a great movie. Inspirational. Funny. It touched my heart. Great history lesson about the depression era and the way it affected people.If you haven't seen it then you must.

My husband and I had the pleasure of watching this movie last night. I had to learn more about this amazing man, that's how I ended up here. Words cannot explain how this movie made me feel, such admiration for a man who lived a life worth admiring. All of the comments previously posted, sum up my feelings exactly. Cinderella Man is a movie worthy of praise, and the man behind the story, even more!

FOR THE SECOND TIME, WE WATCHED THE MOVIE, AND WAS INSPIRED AGAIN BY WHO JAMES BRADDOCK WAS, THE STORY, LIFE, AND HARD TIMES THE FAMILY WENT THROUGH. I HAD MY KIDS WATCH IT, TO SEE HOW HARD IT WAS BACK IN THE ERA OF THE DEPRESSION, WHEN PEOPLE BARELY HAD WHAT THEY NEEDED TO SURVIVE. MY SON, WHOM SAID, "I DON'T WANT TO WATCH THAT MOVIE ,WAS VERY IMPRESSED AND GLAD HE WATCHED IT. I COULD SEE THE INTENSITY IN HIS FACE DURING THE MOVIE. RUSSELL CROW AND RENEE ZELLWEGER DID AN AWSOME JOB IN THE MOVIE. WE WERE VERY IMPRESSED. MIGHT EVEN HAVE TO SEE IT A 3RD TIME. I HIGHLY RECOMEND IT. THANKS,,,,,,,,,,,, FRANK

I can only echo the many tributes to Jim that are on this site. Jim's spirit and love of family are as wonderful as they are rare in today's world. What a tremendous inspiration to the many kid's today that have been living in a world where multi-million dollar contracts are thrown around left and right, but personal honor and courage are sadly becoming a thing of the past. This man can stand as an example to everyone in teaching the importance of family values and giving your everything to acheive your goals. Thanks Jim.

What a Great Movie about a Great and Inspiring Family Man! I'm dissapointed that being born and raised in New Jersey, I hadn't heard more about him. New Jersey should advocate his life and story much mre than they do. What a guy!

A great movie about a great man. His pure love of family was truly inspirational. I'm sure most people would agree that this movie should be a pre-requisite for both college and pro athletes. It is a humbling reminder of what should truly motivate us each day- family!!

Just watched the film. fantastic, This guy was a pure gent. Some of todays sporting stars should learn a lesson and remember where they came from.

Hey, I learned about James from Cinderella Man.....The movie. Well I just wanted to say that he is a really insperational man to any futur boxer. The movie on him was the best movie I have ever seen if I had to rate it I would give it a 10/10!!!!!So that's all I have to say so maybe talk to you guys later! Bye Bye.
