James J. Braddock - Guestbook
Welcome to the official guestbook of the James J Braddock website. Due to spam, we have been forced stop guestbook entries.
I have just finished reading Cinderella Man (I know Jimmy hated that name). What an amazing story, it is the depth of his humanity and spirit that touched me as much, if not more, than his boxing. His love for Mae & the kids is an example to us all that sets very high standard - John

Thank you so much for sharing this personal information about your Dad. He is surely a man that lived life following his courageous and loving heart. What an inspirational life story of overcoming and not giving up in the face of hard times! The movie was great, but the man was greater.

This is the second time I have watched this film in the past two days. Not only is it touching and heart-felt, but it is beautiful and inspiring as well. I do believe that Mr. Braddock's story has changed my life forever. (And at age seventeen I hope there is a lot more to go.) I really do cherish his story and memory and know that there is truly no one else like him. I can only hope to possess the love and determination that he did and obviously still does. Thank you.

I was so touched by the movie, Cinderella Man, that I just had to look him up on this website to find out more about your grandfather - what a magnificent man! That is so wonderful that his grandson runs this website and keeps his memory that much more alive and well! I was also impressed by the role his granddaughter, Rose, played in the movie. I am left wanting to learn more and more! Keep up the good work as his living legacy! How lucky you are to have his blood running through your veins! How lucky the world is to have known him.

I rented "Cinderalla Man" on DVD and watched it tonight. After I return it, I will turn around and buy it so I can add it to my DVD collection, which is what I should have done in the first place.

My husband and I Finally got to watch this wonderful movie. I purchased this movie about a month ago and never was able to watch it until today. We just decided to relax and watch this movie this afternoon so that there were no interruptions or we wouldn't get sleepy. I also cannot believe how many people watched this movie on this day from all the postings. Quite a remarkable story and Russell and Rene were spectacular. We will remember this true story always.

I got the movie as a gift for Chrsitmas. My sister and I saw it at the movies and she knew how much I loved the story. We were raised with our grandparents and I was so sad because we have no one left to ask about Mr Braddock's day. He reminded me of my Grandpa, did what he had to to take care of his family. I admire this man and his partner - his wife. My grandma used to tell us of the depression days. Our Momma passed away 2001, she might have remembered this great family man. And I'm sure she would have said "he's ljust ike my Dad."

Just watched "the movie", perhaps the most intense film ever. What a story, what a life! My parents were married in Oct '29 so I have some idea of what Jim was up against. I had to ask my son. who had checked out your site. if Jim was going to make it. If not I would have had to leave the room. God bless all in the family and thanks for sharing your story.

What a beautiful legacy for the Braddock Family. Integrity, courage, love, and sacrifice are rare qualities to find in one person. Jim and Mae Braddock lived and breathed these qualities. I hope it will continue with the future generations of his family!

I have never been so touched by a story of true heroism, total loyalty, and sheer determination. Not only from James, but from Mae and their absolute will to never give up or quit. Their story is a testament of how we as a society now have taken for granted all of our roots. The Braddocks' love for each other and their children are a cornerstone of what the American intention was and should still be. It is my opinion that James and Mae Braddock are among the greatest people, husband and wife, parents, friends, and Americans to have ever lived. I am proud that their legacy continues to live on and hopefully inspire everyone that has the honor of being told their story. It is a foundation, often lost today, for which husbands, fathers, wives, and mothers can learn great lessons from, and hopefully live their lives by. I know, I as a father and husband will. I will pass their story and heroic legacy down to my own children.
