James J. Braddock - Guestbook

My family watched the Cinderella Man movie last night. It was a very uplifting and inspirational story. I followed boxing with my father who passed away a couple of years ago. He was also a boxer and veteran of WW11. He often spoke of James
Braddock and his amazing comeback. Faith committment and persistance is the message I received from the life of this incredible man of integrity. He is a model all should emulate.

Truely inspirational. Where are the James J. Braddock's of the world today? There are few in society and even fewer in professional sports.

My family watched Cinderella Man and were totally moved by this movie. I'm 46 years old and never heard of your father until this movie but my father remembers your dad and said he was a great boxer. I enjoyed looking at all of the photos and reading about your father. Such a beautiful story about James Braddock and his family. What a wonderful man he was. Thanks for sharing his life with all of us.

Athletes today seem to be so full of themselves and consumed by the money they can make. Jim's story is very heartwarming and inspirational. He is truly one of our national heroes.

Although I didn't know about James Braddock until I saw this movie I enjoyed it very much. My champ was my grandfather Wayne Neville. He was born about the same time and had to go into the boxing ring to earn just enough to eat and this movie helped me understand how hard it was during the depression.
Thank you for the James Braddock story.

I was truly inspired and moved by the story and movie of this man that I knew nothing about before. I also learned about Max Baer the fighter....who knew that Max Baer's was a fighter with a killer punch? Well okay.... I didn't know. Anyway, I love a good story, especially when it's true. Now I know about James Braddock and what a man of character he was.

It's wonderful to watch something that moves you so much as to stay with you for several days. I know I'll be thinking about this movie for more days to come. I only wish more people were able to see it in the theater.
One thing that I keep thinking about is the scene in which Jim returns his federal assistance money when he starts doing well again. I can't help but wonder how Americans today would handle the Great Depression and if anyone would have the dignity and strength of character to do what Jim did there. I'm saddened to think that most would not.
Well, either way the story definitely gives you something to think about.

Mr Braddock is truly an inspiration to everyone in this country. As a domestic violence victim and mother of an infant son Vincent, his story helps inspire me each day as a parent to beat the odds as well. God Bless you all for allowing his memory to stay alive through the movie and the site!!!

This movie was awesome its depiction of dignity, respect, honour, courage, perserverance, self control and indomitable spirit is what is slowly eroding from our society today. We need more of this 'great stuff'. Kudos to James J. Braddock, his family and friends. May his spirit live on forever.

I believe the word hero best defines Mr. Braddock in what he did for himself, his family, and the nation during the great depression.

I loved the story of James Braddock. It sends a message that no matter what comes along in life if you have your family and courage any thing is possible and nothing will defeat you. Thank you for sharing the wonderful photos of your family.

Watched this with my kids last night. What an inspiration for me as a father of seven to teach my kids pereseverance and love -- and living with little in the poverty of the depression, but with so much love. That's the fightin' Irish spirit!

James J. Braddock was a true hero and inspiration. Add in the fact that he fought in WWII makes him even more of a special man. I will no doubt have a pint in his honor. Erin Go Bragh!!!

Mr. James Braddock III,
I just watched this wonderful movie about a man you should be so very proud of. I only hope the movie was an accurate portrayal of this American legend. We thoroughly enjoyed it. As a former athlete, I was enthralled and deeply motivated by this story.
Happy Holidays. May you carry on his name well.

This guy is inspiration even 70+ years later. He makes me proud to be Irish. Work hard and stay close to your heart is the lesson I take from this great champion. Thank you for the inspiration Mr. Braddock.

The story of James J Braddock is a story of a wonderful man who is a true role model and inspiration. I'm so glad a movie about him was made. Can't believe his story wasn't told sooner.

This is one of the greastest storys of
the depression era I have heard/seen.
An american story of blood, sweat
and hard work.

Inspiring movie .... Character always tells... James Braddock had great qualities (determined/motivated, honest, loving family man, work ethic, etc.) that I wish more of our athletes of today would model for our children.
I'm not really a boxing fan but I did enjoy this movie tremendously!
