James J. Braddock - Guestbook
Welcome to the official guestbook of the James J Braddock website. Due to spam, we have been forced stop guestbook entries.
After viewing "Cinderella Man" last night, I was left with a quest to learn more about the man, James J. Braddock. I was inspired by his spirit and dedication to his family. Mr. Braddock was, and continues to be, an inspiration to all faced with adversity. When many of us would have thrown up our hands and questioned "Why?", he dug in deeper and pulled himself and his family out of the depths of dispair. A wonderful movie that I have recommended over and over.

James Braddock life is one the the most inspiring stories that I have ever witnessed. He was an inspiration in 1930's and now in 2005 with the release of the movie "The Cinderella Man." The Braddock family has done America a great service with their effort in preserving James J Braddock's legacy and life story.

James Braddock is an american hero, showing true guts and heart with everything he did. I think this courageous man should be recognized more, not only as a fighter, but as a true american icon. I had chills up and down my body when (in the movie) he was announced the winner of that title fight between him and max baer.

I can't get this movie off my mind. I can't believe that there were people or are people alive that have/had that kind of guts, heart, and self respect. I wish I could find a Cinderella Man of my own! Men like that just don't exsist anymore. You should be very proud to be a part of such a wonderful legacy.

What a truly wonderful man James J Braddock was. I am not a boxing fan but a fan of Russell Crowe and Ron Howard. You are very fortunate indeed to have Mr. Crowe portray him as he is always very passionate about his roles and he seemed to be very impressed by Braddock the man and Ron Howard as a director is well, one of the best. I was very moved by Jimmy's struggles thru the depression and his triump over Max Baer.
Too bad there aren't more heros like him nowadays.
I wish more people had seen this movie for they missed a very moving and wonderful story.

Great Story, Great Human Being, Something we all should aspire to. Regardless of the boxing gifts this man possessed, he would have been a success in life anyway, because of his spirit and principles. He should be an ideal taugth to young boys, today, of what it means to be a man.

I just finished watching the movie, filmed by Ron Howard. I knew about James Braddock before the movie was filmed and all i could say is that his story and his life is such an inspiration to so many people, even as of today. His powerful spirit and his amazing strength definately teaches us that all of us have the ability to succed even though there are barriers in the way that try to prevent us from accomplishing our dreams. He is the perfect example of showing that humans have the ability to overcome obstacles when most people around us have no hope that we can do something we want to do. A great man he must have been.

I really like your web site and it has a nice look to it. I admire the courage and tenacity of James Braddock.I saw the fight with Braddock vs. Baer on the sports channel and thought it was an exciting and great fight. I like the fact that Jim Braddock studied the style of Max Baer and effectively employed his winning strategy.

In watching this movie w/my 14 year old son, I pointed out to him that the only reason the brutality and the human suffering were bearable for me was because throughout, James Braddock remained a decent man. He took responsibility for his family, he took lead...without running his spirited wife down. This is a man. And I believe a wonderful example for a 14 year old boy...and the rest of us.

I believe that great men come very seldom but there is no doubt that Mr. Braddock was. I only wish that there would be another champion of a man to emerge in our professional ranks that would openly promote the great values and love of fellow man as James J. Braddock!

I just git finished watching Cinderella Man. It was truly an inspiration with what Mr Braddock had to endure during the Great Depression, and to still be able to achieve the World Heavyweight Chapionship. Incredible.

My dad told me to watch the movie because he thought it was a fantastic story - so I did. I was glued to my seat, fell in love with James Braddock and his integrity and determination (what a guy!), and was just enchanted in general. A must see.

I am truly impressed and moved by this story. The unselfish caring and devotion to his family is something lacking in today's world. I think this story should be told to all in hopes to touch as many as possible. My best wishes to his family.

A truly inspirational story of a man and time that few today can appreciate. James J. Braddock and his story is one that provides hope and faith that eventhough things be low, determination and the will to come back overcomes all!
There are so many James J. Braddock's whose story hasn't been told - but can be seen through his life. God Bless those of the Greatest Generation - they made the USA great and all of our lives better.

My grandfather (1881-1965) was a great fight fan and Braddock was his favorite. He never forgot that Braddock paid back the money thathe received while on relief. The movie was a wonderful show and Grandpa would have loved it. My wife and sons ure did, as did I.

I watched the movie "Cinderella Man" today, and thought it was a great movie. If Mr. Braddock was the husband and family man that he was depicted as in the movie, then there is no wonder he was an inspiration to those in his era. As family members of this man, you should be very proud of his achievements and in the way he carried on his life. Thanks for keeping the American Dream alive!
