James J. Braddock - Guestbook
Welcome to the official guestbook of the James J Braddock website. Due to spam, we have been forced stop guestbook entries.
Thank goodness that Ron Howard decided to tell this story about a truly heroic man. To think that I would never have known of him otherwise. It is wonderful to hear about a man who never gave up on his family, fought for what he really believed in and loved his country enough to only take what he really needed and gave it back as soon as he could. This is the type of role model we all need today. God bless the Braddock Family for sharing this real life story with all of us.

I've watched the movie "The Cinderella Man" now for about 10 times. What an amazing story of an amazing man....I loved the spirit and soul that James J. Braddock possessed. Anyone who sees this film or read about this wonderful man should be reserved to never give up and always believe in the power of love. Rock on "Bulldog of Bergen"!

I am still overwhelmed by the amazing movie Cinderella Man. Once again Ron Howard has managed to enter my heart and reveal to me an amazing human being whose love of family and courage in the face of great difficulties is a tribute to the human spirit. I cried throughout the movie and that does not happen to me often.
You are the coolest Mr. James J. Braddock and you deserve your place in Heaven! I hope I meet you when I get there Champ!

I was born in Jersey City and my Grandfather Walter Fenton was a prizefighter in the area at the same time of Mr. Braddock. My father who was born in 1936 in Jersey City also told me stories of his father and may stories of the depression.
My grandfather died in 1943 and my dad was always talking about the era when he was a kid. Much of the story of the movie reflected what I remember of those stories. My Dad died August 6, 2004 and I miss him so. I am also experiencing family crisis now.
The story of a great determined man, a great wife, and a strong family who experienced severe hardship gto overcome it and endure will also inspire me to achieve greatness and will be helpful to guide me through my upcoming trials and tribulations.
I must say thank you to Ron Howard and the excellent cast and also to the Late Great James J. Braddock, who I refer to as Gentleman Jim.

What a phenominal story. I just finished watching the movie, I am speechless. Such a powerful story, not only about the time, but the true love Jimmy and Mae shared. Awsome job on the movie by everyone involved, it is truley a movie worthy to be added to any movie collection.

My husband and I just finished watching Cinderella Man...what a wonderful, inspirational story! Living in an age where people sign up for welfare while driving around in a big car and apply for aid to dependent children while they are still pregnant, what an insight into the true human spirit of "taking care of yourself" and not asking for help this movie portrayed! Thank you for sharing this website with us.

My son and I just watched Cinderella Man together. Since neither of us knew of James J Braddock prior to the movie, we were on the edge of our seat worried that Max Baer would kill him. We should have known he'd win since he was not alone in the ring. Thank you Braddock family for keeping up this site. After the movie I went directly on computer and did a Google search. May your family continue to be blessed.

I have never been through anything like the trials that the Braddock family experienced during the Great Depression. My own troubles seem small and trivial in comparison. Still, the perserverance this family story exudes gives me the motivation to do my best in all my endeavors. Thanks for allowing so many to post their comments on a great American story about a great American family. God Bless.

WOW! What an incredible, inspiring movie.. I just saw it last night and cannot get James Braddock off the brain. I called all my relatives to rent this movie. The movie was put together so well, a job well done most definitely! I love fighters, people who fight for their lives and for their family to make it work. Life is tough and challenging and if we all just never give up and fight, the world can be a better place.......I LOVE THIS MOVIE, I WAS TRUELY INSPIRED.
