The essence of this story goes well beyond boxing. It's about a husband & wife staying together during difficult times, loving their family, a man's pride, his character and finally, unexpected victory in the ring.

Your recent movie is incredible. I myself once beat the odds in life coming back from two knee injuries to win the NCAA Ski Championships and set a United States Skiing record that season for the most victories in one season. I'm very proud of your father, as he simply found a way to win, no matter what. That's what life is about.

Best of luck,
Thomas Schaefer

This is a heart warming movie. It makes one proud to be an American where we all have a oppurtunity for a second chance. What we do with that chance is up to the individual. Bless his family.

I just watched the DVD and loved this movie! I also don't watch boxing but enjoyed watching this story of a man who rose above the odds against him and came out on top, truly inspirational. Makes me glad I like Irish ale. ; )

Every family should be so lucky to have a father/husband like he. My grandmother use to tell us stories of the great depression. I took my children to see the movie and my 10 year old son asked me if it really was that hard on folks. It was a great history lesson and a beautiful love story. Makes me that much more proud of my Irish heritage and my American heritage as well.
God Bless the James J. Braddock Family

In a time when our country needed a hero, James Braddock filled that void and was a humble gentleman to all.

Just wanted to say, that JJB seemed like a great man, A man that I am sure was a role model to alot of people in his time, thats great..Cinderalla Man was an awesome portrayl of one mans life, and I am glad it was created...

Watching Cinderella Man and listening to Ron Howards directors cut it boils down to a great story both informative and entertaining. I feel Max Baur was not represented in a positve light. I did a google search on Max and the current spin on his life is very colorful. Great fight pictures of the golden era of boxing can be viewed on the pps web site.
J. Honadel - Bozeman, Montana USA [2005-12-07 19:35:59]
I watched the movie several months back and I really enjoyed it. I think what moved me the most is what he did even after his boxing career.

This movie is in my top 10 favorites of all time.

Me and me husband watched this beautiful movie. We use to watch boxing years ago, around the time mike tyson boxed. But i tell you after seeing this movie and looking at family photos of james braddock, I have never seen a boxer like james. The movie moved me so. What a man! You are very proud of your grandpa, i know. What love he had. I'm so glad we watched the movie. Now we're going to rent his fights to watch. Truely a wonderful man and your grandma also was so in love with him and their kids. thank you

I'm glad I didn't know much of anything about James Braddock because it made the movie much more exciting for my wife and I. The Max Baer fight scene kept us on the edge of our seats the whole time. What a wonderful true story about a GREAT BOXER and FAMILY MAN! America could certainly use more men of honor like James Braddock.

Due to all of the men that I have watched fight over the last 20 years of my life, I love boxing. This story just helped deepin my passion for the sport a-little bit more. As for the 10% that your Grandfather recieved from the Joe Lewis fights, it just sounded like good business in my opinion. I would also like to say thanks for posting this website so that I could find out more indepth details reguarding JJB.
