Even though he was but a sports figure, what he represented was so much more than most people see.

what a great fighter an amazing talent and brave man that fights for his family a true irish man

The movie about James J. Braddock's life was thoroughly boring and not by any means a worthy homage to a great man and great boxer who loved his family and struggled so much.

I can't say I know anything about who James J. Braddock was as a person; what I know of him comes from the movie "Cinderella Man," however, in my opinion, I don't think Braddock was as big a hero as the movie makes him out to be. After all, although our current recession is trivial compared to the Depression, do our hopes and dreams lie in the hands of our sports players? He was a boxer, not a god.

The movie Cinderella Man was a great movie that can inspire people to work hard for their family and acheive what they need to no matter what the odds are

The movie was great and I loved the idea the Great Depression was livable.

Just watched the movie for the 1st time today. Didn't realize it was a true story till it was almost over. I was bowled over by his perserverence, humility and love for his family. There was no violence in him, just love of a sport he was good at by Gods grace. When I googled his name and this site came up, I got even more curious. I am not a sports fan at all and interestingly enough had also watched the lastest Rocky movie a few days ago. Even it was made a few years ago. Just watching, you could feel their heart and soul put into something that gave millions of people hope for something better for themselves as well. Thank you for sharing James Braddock with us. I would be interested in more detail of his later years. It seems to have been brushed over.

Just like tons of other sports legends, i learned about James Braddock through a movie. Classic, but extremely inspirational story of the underdog, and admirable that he overcame so much to become such a great boxer.

James Braddock is a great inspiration to the "underdog" by never giving in and putting forth everything he's worth in order to be successful.

Not a bad fighter for an old man!! Braddock had some serious guts, he's one of those all-around good guys everyone looks up to.

From the depiction of the movie, Braddock was a tough fighter who really never gave in, using great inspiration from his family. An epic fighter with epic determination.

Just like the last hundred people who posted comments, my AP US History made me write in the guestbook. So, uh...James J. Braddock was a real man. A REAL man. I truly look up to him. Russell Crowe did a great job playing the role of such a manly man. I respect Braddock and everything he did and lived for. Is that good enough, Mr. Couch?

Braddock was the people's champ. He should be compared to Ali as one of the best and most exciting boxers of all time.

I greatly enjoyed the movie based on Braddock and his legend. It was trully inspirational and hartwarmin as well as very entertaining.
For this movie and all other inspirational movies the best part about it is that it is true,
