I was raised in North Bergen, NJ; we lived on 73rd Street and Park Avenue, a few blocks away from the great Braddock. My brother, who was about 12 at the time, knocked on his door one day and Braddock cordially invited him into his home. He also went to the same church that we attended, Immaculate Heart of Mary on Broadway and 76th Street, and my grandfather used to talk to him on Sundays. I was only about 8 or 9 years old, but my grandfather used to say to me, every Sunday, "you know who that is? -- that's the great Jimmy Braddock." When they announce "from NORTH BERGEN, NEW JERSEY" in 'Cinderella Man', I cheer my ass off.

Wonderful film of an awesome, inspiring man. I inherited my love of boxing from my Dad for its mastery of skill, its power of mind and the challenge of man's instinct when he is all alone in the ring. JJ Braddock was a man of the people who proved that the ' little' man can overcome all obstacles. Thank you for this film which commemorates a Great Man.
