We need this kind of man in sports today! A consumate workman of his craft...with integrity, fidelity and patriotism! A real man for the ages. What a great example of the real American!!!

At these times of crisis, when Spain is dreading the consequences of facing 20% unemployment, stories like these shatter your soul, make you want to rise above all difficulties and cast as shining a light as possible on what surrounds you. What an inspiration! Just saw Invictus and drew parallelisms: will rely on Mandela for the collective vision, on Braddock for individual responsibility and deliverance... Belief in oneself, assuming risks -you know it's feasible when such human beacons light up the dark alleys for you... Well done, Jimmy!! My husband and I were just jumping mad on our sofas, our stomachs still knotted up, we'd have liked to share some of your blows with you, pray for you, and take you to the top again in our memories... You shall remain, forever... We love you

Como muchos, luego de ver la película busque en el internet la historia de James Braddock y llegué a su página.
Felicitaciones a ustedes por permitirnos conocer un poco mas de su abuelo, cuya historia es tan inspiradora.

I know one of the grandchildren of James. She mentioned it to me when we talked about movies in casual conversation. This was a great movie, very inspiring. I researched James' life and came across this site. Well done.

I am a pastor in Indianapolis and I want the Braddock family to know how inspiritational I have found the story of James J Braddock to be. I have watched Ron Howard's movie on many occasions and have tagged it as my #1 favorite movie (I am a movie goer). I am in the process of structuring my Easter message for 2010 and have, once again, viewed the movie (last 4 chapters) and will be using JJB as an illustration of "resurrection/victory/power".

I just showed this film for the first time to 8th graders (an all boys Catholic school) as part of our unit on the Great Depression...a complete knockout!!! What a great teaching tool...we discussed everything from the obvious topics... Jimmy's courage, toughness, and compassion during his time of hardship and what his accomplishments meant to Americans of the era...to other very important topics portrayed in the movie...the beauty of marital commitment, the portrayal of Baer, the humble life Jimmy led even after winning the title, etc....Bravo!

This guy is amazing! I just watched the movie about his life, and what he overcame to win, it was incredible. He is truly spectacular. God blessed him with a great talent.

Jimmy Braddock was more than a boxer--he was a man's man. Watching "Cinderella Man" brought us to know about this gentleman, and has encouraged us to read more about his life. Way to go, Ron Howard! Thanks for bringing this "larger-than-life" man to life in our time.

I have been inspired by the story of Jim Braddock each time Ive watched the movie. My great great grandfather came over on a boat from Ireland and ultimately family moved west from New york. This is truly an inspiring story considering the times in which we live.

James is an inspiration to all of us feeling
the recession and brink of depression that our country is at presently. My hope is that myself and people I know can have half the courage and integrity that
he had.

As someone of 100% Irish descent I admire a man like Mr. Braddock. Jim Braddock is a man in every sense of the word. And he had a heart, not just full of love and respect for family and fellow man, but "heart" that showed his honor and courage, to be able to reach deep inside himself and never give up! I wish I could have known him as I've never met any men of his calibre around here. I thank his family for allowing us these glimpses into the life of a great Irish man!

I believe my grandfather, James Morris, fought Jimmy Braddock when they were kids. The name 'Jimmy Morris' is in the index of the Cinderella Man book. My grand-aunt used to say that my grandfather had boxed a champ. My grandfather won the Golden Gloves in 1929 but I don't think he ever boxed professionally. He became a New York City cop like so many Irish men in the early 1900's. Loved the book and movie. Wish there were more people like Jimmy Braddock in the world.

I just wanted to pay my respect to the man, the family, and to the person responsible for this website.. Jim Braddock is, in my mind, the icon who everyone should look for when living their life! I say this because he put his family first, then everyone else.. well second. Say what you will about the movie "cindarella man".. I say Jim Braddock is a name NEVER to be forgotten! This man is a true inspiration to the way one should live their life: Just, hard, & loving!

Cinderella Man is an outstanding film about an outstanding man and his inspiring story. He embodies the spirit of American resilience and courage during the Great Depression. His success in boxing is only surpassed by his success as a husband and a father.

My son insisted the last two weeks we should rent the movie because he had been watching it in Junior High Social Studies. So we watched it last night & he was right, it was very good!! I'm so glad he wanted me to watch it with him again. He wants to buy the movie now. Heartwarming story about family, love, courage & inspiration.
