James J. Braddock, World Heavy-Weight Champion

Welcome to the official guestbook of the James J Braddock website. Due to spam, we have been forced stop guestbook entries.

Wow. I'm just a kid, but man has the movie Cinderella Man and the man James J. Braddock changed my life. My friends and I saw this movie together and were all kids, but we are old enough to understand a man like Jim Braddock. We also really love Russell Crowe and believe that this is an Oscar movie. We talk about the movie at least once a day and were just getting started on learning more about Jim Braddock. We've bought books, look at websites (like this one), and much more. We are truly in love with everything about this movie, and the true Cinderella Man. On behalf of all of us I write this... We were certainly changed by this movie, and will never be the same again, in the best way there is possible. Much love, Erica.

A great movie. So inspirational, i will be insisiting that all my students in the Jersey City school I am principal see the movie and read the book. I have also a campaign to vote Jimmy into the NJ Sports Hall of Fame, an honor long overdue. I have made up shirts and also called Govenror Codey.

Compelling story of a man's life filled with commitment and loyality. It's an inspiration to all of us who live in this free land.
Maybe we should all take a look at giving back to those who have helped us in our lives.
Truely a great movie.

It's a shame more people haven't seen this great movie. Instead they would rather see movies with explosions, car chases and comic book characters.
More great movies like this should be seen.

I just saw the movie last night and think it should be required viewing for all high school students studying American History. It was inspirational and very well done.

Inspirational! Though I've never heard of James Braddock, his believes will follow through the downsides of my life for many years to come. Credits to the movie "Cinderella Man", for introducing a hero to the world.

I just got back from the film and I understand more clearly how my Father grewup in the Bronx poor in the 30ies Thanks, for letting me respect my Dad even more then I do. My father was given up for 3 yrs from 1933 to 36 at the age of 3 and I know that hurt him so much but he nevers shows it. Again thanks for sharing your story and I need to bring my Dad to the movie ASAP.

Thanks,

Patrick Gaughran

Just saw the film! Why did I wait so long? A man of great honor and integrity. I especially liked the part where JJB stands in line and re-pays the government. A class act and a stand up guy. I only wish I had lived in such a profound era of American history. Thanks to the Braddock family for allowing RH to tell and share your amazing story.

Thank you for this very informative site! I had never heard of this fight or Mr. Braddock before seeing the movie tonight. What a wonderful representation of the Depression era and the people who lived it! It was a privilege to see it with my son and to tell him, "This was the time when all your grandparents were young like you. You come from tough people." Thanks again and thanks to the moviemakers for telling a great and inspiring story.

This a first posting for me was inspired by Crow's appearance on Letterman. I have seen the movie and it should garner many Academy Awards, however if it doesn't win even one, JB has won my heart and my admiration as a man, son, husband and inspiration to all. "What a Guy!"!

I saw Cinderella Man tonight and really liked the representation of him and his family. I was thrilled to see that many depression era people were happily influenced by Mr. Braddock. Now we get to share in his vision and his family's. Thanks for the informative web site.

Listened with my Dad on our family's first new Zenith radio the championship fight betweem Mr. Braddock and Max Baer. Recently saw the movie and it brought back memories of the great depression and the keen interest the general public had for Heavy Championship Fights of the era. Still can hear the sound the newspaper boy yelling: "Extra. Extra

I remembered his name from watching old boxing videos. I was a big boxing fan as a kid in the 40's and 50's. Doesn't seem to be as much class in boxers today. I saw the movie, and searched for a website.

My father, the son of Irish immigrants, was born in 1930 and just passed away last year. He used to tell me about Jimmy Braddock when I was a kid. My dad loved boxing and he loved movies. He most definitely would have loved Cinderalla Man.
