My husband and I just saw Cinderella Man. Excellent movie! I would like to see more movies about family values and the good in people.

My daughter and I saw the movie last night and were thoroughly moved by Jim's devotion to his family. I loved the line, "I box for milk." Also, I never realized Central Park was a haven for so many desperate people during the depression. The movie was clearly an eye-opener in many respects.

People today sure could take a lesson from Mae and Jim on vows and the sanctity of marriage. We loved their relationship and Mae was right, he couldn't do it without her support. Of all the people in history, other than Jesus, we would choose to meet and have lunch with Jim & Mae Braddock. You can never have too many friends with integrity.

Great movie bringing attention to a sobering time in world history. As a fellow Irishman, I am proud to see how Jim's character brought him through. Sometimes I think we forget that true happiness comes through the simple stuff - make your home one of love and nuturing for your wife and kids- these days we are so focussed on loving ourselves we miss out on the great reward from loving others. Jim knew! His family must be very proud of his legacy and the website is a lovely tribute to him.

CINDERELLA MAN is not an excellent movie just because of the best boxing scenes ever put on film--its real importance is the insight that it gives on the men and women of America's greatest generation. The moral values, work ethic, family support, cohesiveness of family, love of family and spouse, and strength of a family in the worst economic times in the 20th century--all these things and more make for reasons for ALL people to see this movie now and for decades to come.

I've been "fighting" life all my life, never amounting to much in my own eyes although no one ever complains. Seeing your Dad's story made it that much easier to get up one more time and have at it. I found this website by accident, and I am sure glad to have the chance to say Thank You for putiing it up; it's full of great information that reminds me once again there's no need for me to be a quitter. It's nice to know, because some days it's tough to remember that all by myself. It's helpful to have others setting a good example and reminding me it's possible to do Okay even when times are tough.

My husband, myself, my father-in-law and his wife saw Cinderella Man this past weekend. We all loved this movie - it was very touching and very humbling to a generation who has never endured the type of poverty this man did. And, he did it with integrity and his values throughout. It was especially interesting to see the movie with my father-in-law (84 years old) who remembers as a young boy in New York sitting in front of the radio listening to these fights with his brother. Thank you Ron Howard for such a great movie endeavor - you have become such a great movie director. Thanks too to James Braddock for living and loving in America in the good and the bad times.

I never knew about Jim Braddock until viewing the film, Cinderella Man. I'm grateful to the folks who put this together. I know it was a labor of love. A friend of mine took my son and I to see it: what a triumphant story. It made me think about character and humility in males, the strength of the wife and the family unit as well as the vision that a father can have for his family. It took my mind off my own sorry life as a single mother. It really made me think that human beings have lost the courage to live life virtuously - something this individual possessed. Jim was a boxer before he became a soldier. Fighting is always bigger than the individual. What one, stands for, fights for and how is pretty central to human decency; this is clear from this story. Thanks for a

A great film! A great American rags to riches story! I'll be adding it to my collection when it goes on sale. Destined to be one of the "Best"!

My wife and I saw this movie last night and it is one if the best I've seen in a very long time. It is hard to believe that a man so down on his luck could eventually come back and become the heavyweight champ of the world. It is also wonderful to see how much he cared about his family and how his children were raised even under the toughest of times.

My friend, Henry Cooper, a Brooklyn heavyweight was Braddock's sparring partner in preparation for his defense against Joe Louis June, 1937 at Comiskey Park, Chicago. Cooper fought in one of the preliminaries defeating Alex Kettles.

I loved the move and was very impressed about the moriality of such a popular celebrity. A sure rarity in todays world. I never heard of this great man until the movie but my mother, who was the one who wanted to see it, knew who the movie was about. She said she use to listen to the fights on the radio with her father and remembered all of them well.

A great movie, simply a wonderful story! In about 1938 Jimmy was billed to appear in my city, however the newspaper day following had no mention--go figure.

My husband & I saw the movie last night. James B.'s high family values & standards are an inspiration to all of us. This movie deserves more than just 1 Oscar! How about "Movie of the Year"? One of my favorite lines was.......I box for milk! What a wonderful man, husband & father...

Just saw the movie and was so touched by Jim's courage and tenacity - but most of all his love of his family, which this website backs up. People should walk away with not only respect for this fighter, but a reminder of family values. What a blessing he must have been to all.
