My husband and I just saw the movie tonight. It was a wonderful and very moving tribute to a man with a lot of heart. I shed a tear and was delighted at his victory. Everyone applauded the movie and the man. He is an inspiration.

I just saw Cinderella Man and i was moved by the Integrity that J.J. Braddock displayed during the most difficult times of the Depression. in spite of Hunger and lack of Money, he remained focused in the righteous ideals of Man, seemmingly never stealing or taking advantage of any situation in a time of greatest need of survival. The concentrated focus he had in fighting is commendable but his personal integrity rises above any pugilistic achievements.

I just saw the movie and it was such an emotional and inspirational film. I am an English and History teacher and when the video is outforpublic sale, I will be purchasing it for use in my classroom. What a wonderful multi-use film for high schoolers in History and also in moral and character education. It's one I'll watch over and over again and I know I will never tire of it!!

Even though I was born and raised in New Jersey and am a boxing fan, I was unfamiliar with Mr. Braddock's story until I saw the movie Cinderella Man. The movie showed him to be not only a great boxer but a man of great character and itegrity. I am very glad to now know his story.

Today I saw Cinderella Man with my 14 year old son Steven. Living in North Bergen I'm only blocks away from Braddock Park named after this great boxer. I can't put into words on how touching and inspiring this movie was. Jimmy fought his way to the win the heavyweight championship when odds were all stacked against him. His willingness to never give up when times were tough for him and family truly showed me what kind of man he was. All heart and a champion that makes me pround to live a town where he raised his family and where a park is named in his honor. A hats off also too Ron Howard who directed this excellent movie.

I just finished reading "Cinderella Man" by Jeremy Schaap. Very well-written description of an extraordinary man in an extraordinary time. I can't wait to see the movie adaptation. My dad was an amateur boxer in the '20s in the Chicago area - actually won some medal - but my brothers and I never became interested in the sport. Now, after reading this book, I have a "ton" of questions I'd like to ask him, but they must go unasked for he passed away nearly 2 years ago at age 92. I think Jimmy's story is an inspiration to thousands of people - and I'm one of them! I'm sure you and your entire family is very proud of this wonderful guy!

James Braddock was such an inspiration to the people of his time, he had honor, courage and such a large heart. You should be so proud of your grandfather. We saw the movie tonight and it is a tremendous testiment to him.

I went and saw the movie tonight and was absolutely thrilled with it. I love sports for the very things that that were portrayed in this movie: the ability to triumph and overcome anything. I hope the movie did your Grandfather, justice, if so he must have been a wonderful man.

Dear James, I saw the fabulous movie about your grandfather tonight. Not being a follower of boxing, I didn't know what the outcome would be, so was surprised with the happy ending. My parents and in-laws both lived through the depression, and I know it was hard, but nothing like what I saw in the movie. The story brought to life just how destitute people became, especially in big cities where, when faced with unemployment , they couldn't even raise a garden or small animals to sustain themselves. What a wonderful man your grandfather was, and after inspiring millions, it sounds like he went on to a simple, humble life, as well as serving his country in WWII. How spoiled and ungrateful so many Americans are today. Thank you for sharing his story through this website. I'm passing on the word about this great story.

Best movie that I have seen in a long time! Maybe ever. This movie has touched me and I cannot stop thinking about it. I'm disappointed that I had never heard of Jim Braddock before I had seen the movie.

The movie was fabulous. In this day and age of rich spoiled athletes, it is a great testimony to today's youth that there were people like your dad who fought for family, country, and the preservation of our freedom. He exemplified all that God would want a man to be. You must be very proud. The next time I see a spoiled millionaire athlete complain about having to be a role model, I will smile and think about your dad. He understood why he was placed on this earth. May God bless him and your mother for all eternity.

Wow I just got back from seeing the movie about your Dad and what a movie. You should be so proud to have a father like that who was loving and caring about his family. I was so moved and touch my Ron Howard production of this movie. It's a great honor to have your dad documented in a fantastic movie like this. May God watch over him and your mom. Anthony

Just wanted to comment - Just got back from seeing the movie which was spectacular by the way, and thought I might research what I had just witnessed an hour before. What a great man and a great legend. Being from Jersey myself I could relate in a way, and loved the spirit the movie had. James truely must have been a great man!

My wife and I saw Cinderella Man tonight. It was, without a doubt, one of the best movies I've seen in years. Sure there is great acting, but the story of the life of James Braddock and his family is what really steals the show. James Braddock must have been a great man, with a heart larger than most people can imagine.

This movie is very inspiring and uplifting. I'm sure the Braddock family is very proud that the story of James is now being shared with the world.

I went to see the movie "Cinderella Man" last night with my best friend, and it made me appreciate everything I have way more. At 18 years of age, I would have never thought how bad the depression actually was. It was generations ago---but it made me realize that all the survivors of the great depression were heroes---and to have somebody as inspiring as James J. Braddock---must have been the greatest blessing in the world at that time. I wish that I could have been one of the lucky ones to have known such a great man--- :-) but I feel a bit honored to just know the story. :-) The movie left me "awed"~*Re*

Absolutely a beautifuly told story of a great guy. The casting, the acting, and the outstanding performance of every one of the characters left of us crying in our seats with joy for a family who triumphed through adversity. What a man...what a movie!

My wife and I saw this movie last night and agreed it was one of the best movies we ever witnessed. We fell in love with James and wish there were more people like him to go around. This movie is one of those rare ones that can act as an agent of change for the better.

I also feel it is necessary to say that Max Baer was not the sinister character depicted in the story. But this fact doesn't take away from the goodness that is the legacy of James J. Braddock.

I took my 7 and 10 year old girls to see "Cinderella Man" on the afternoon of the London bombings. We needed a glimpse of what is "good and right" in our world. ...as well as a reminder of how fortunate we are. Mr. Braddock is a hero to us all because of how his values and priorities directed and guided him through adversity. My children walked away from that movie thanking their stars for their family and their "DAD" first. They were also reminded that things like "heat and hash" are not necessarily a given for everyone.

God bless Russell Crowe for the incredible job he did bringing this man back to life. I was truly amazed by his transformation and depiction. His subtle, understated performance of this remarkable man is what made the movie what it was.

I hope the Braddock family is proud. Thank you for sharing the details of this special man with us. Our children need to see and hear more about people like Jim Braddock and what he represented.
