A tremendous movie in every sense., great acting, great directing, a wonderful story of grit, faith and determination. I wish boxing today had as much integrity as Mr. Braddock apparently did.

This movie and true life story shows how Boxers and atheletes today need to carry themselves. This man fought for nothing and it was everything to him. But in the end God let the best man finish on top!
This better win movie of the year.

My husband and I just saw the movie Cinderella Man. My father lived through the depression and was very effected by it, and the movie brings to life that era so that I was able to see how my fathers' generation lived. I was very inspired by not only Mr Braddock's skill in the ring but mostly that he was a decent human being that made decisions with a conscience. I really also was able to visualize the depression and that made me more understand exactly what my father lived through as well. Ron Howard did a superb job at directing and Russell Crowe did a great job telling the story.

I am so grateful that a movie was made of James Braddock, because otherwise so many people would have been left in the dark about this magnificent story of such a great man.
It was truly an inspirational and emotial, and I was filled with admiration for the man. He is now my icon, and shall remain so, may he rest in peace.

I grew up in North Bergen - a downtown guy- and I remember Mr. Braddock taking walks on Hudson County Blvd - now Kennedy Blvd - and through the park with a shock of white hair and walking "straight as a board" as my Irish mother would say. Sorry now that I never approached him - we kids just new him as Mr. James J. Braddock. Just saw the movie and it was sensational - Mr. Braddock showed the tenacity and grit that comes from growing up in Jersey. God bless you Mr. Braddock wherever you are from this downtown kid who looked at you in awe so many years ago.

I just saw "Cinderella Man" and consider it one of the best movies ever made. James Braddock was a great boxer, a great American, and a wonderful human being. He was a champion in every sense of the word.

What an incredible story of courage, love and faith! I can only assume that your father and grandfather left you an incredible legacy that you will pass on to your children and grandchildren. Thank you for letting this movie be made and for this site. I found this on my first search for information on Jim Braddock.

Growing up in a coal mining town in eastern PA during the Lewis era of boxing, my Dad often told us of the greatest boxer that ever lived, James J. Braddock. To us kids he was just another name in boxing until last night when my wife and I saw the movie that ended to a standing ovation. Mr. Braddock's boxing skills was only part of what my Dad was trying to convey to us kids. Mr. Braddock's lifes values were the important message. Where are the James J. Braddocks today? Our society sorely needs a Mr. Braddock today. He's what every father should strive to be. Thank you for allowing this film to be produced!!!

The fight against Max Baer was an incredible testament to courage. Mr. Braddock fought for his family, it seems, against poverty, not for personal fame. If a man has to fight, than it's good to know what you are fighting for. Be proud of james, I know I am. He was a great man and his family loved him.

We saw the "Cinderella Man" movie and were exceedingly impressed with Jim Braddock, his family and friends and the movie itself. This bought me to this site which underscored how realistically the movie portrayed that part of his life.

Wish we did have some memories! We only learned of your grandfather's story through the movie (and it was great!) He clearly was a wonderful man and father as well as a boxer and your website does a superb job of conveying all of those aspects of his life. Thank you for sharing your family's story with us!!!

Cinderella Man touched me because of the determination by Jim Braddock to keep Jim's family together no matter what happened. Ron Howard has given us a memorable story of the life of a family in depression era USA. And a portrayal of a great human being. Thank you. Don Riedel

The Bulldog was an amazing man! His determination should continue as an inspiration for us all! As a former boxer, I understood how heartbreaking it is to no longer be able to do something you love. We all need to keep up hope! God bless him!
