No cursing...no sex...just a man and his love for family. What a wonderful piece of storytelling caputed on film. Best film I've seen in years and years.
Ron Howard is something else isn't he?

Braddock life was a total inspiration to me. I have always enjoyed boxing and find a man that reached fame and still kept his family a high priority. Thanks for making the movie.... James Braddock obviously a very good man of integrity........... thanks!!!

I just found out some interesting info, my grandfather's brother (who was big into boxing and did alot of it) knew James Braddock. My Grandpa has a photo of his brother and Braddock together. Braddock was acting as ref in the backround, as my grandpas brother threw a fake punch at some other guy in the chest. Pretty cool stuff.

I am so truly impressed with this movie. The story, the acting, Ron Howard... My husband and I clenched each others hands in the final scene as Braddock battled Baer. This is no doubt the best movie I've seen in years. It did everything you hope a move will do. It inspired, it provoked thought and emotions, it entertained.

My parents grew up in the Depression and suffered through hard times like those situations depicted in the film.
What a wonderful accomplishment Braddock's life was -- to go through those times and still be a person of integrity.
Thanks to the family members who have set up this site for the rest of us to share his amazing story.

I have never known a man's life to bring such a grand hope in the lives of people facing adversity and depression. I saw "Cinderella Man" today and I was completely riveted by the retelling of this story that i had to see if there was a website up in Mr. Braddock's honor. WOW. What a movie. If the "bulldog's" family is reading this then i want them to know that Mr. James J. Braddock is, still today, a true inspiration to all of us fighting the war on terror. I have encouraged all of my fellow soldiers to watch this movie in order to keep fighting even if the "odds are not in your favor". Thank you for your time.

Just saw the movie and I was pleased to find out that Mr. Braddock was such a good family man. I remember listening to those fights back in the thirties when I was a young boy. The movie brought back a lot of meories of how bad the great depression was. It was a joy to see this movie and hear that Jimmy became a good business man. Perhaps some current athletes can take some lessons from his life. Hats off to Ron Howard for a good job.

Fantastic movie. Filled with so much emotion, I left the theater wanting to know more about this man and his family. What a fantastic boxer, but ever more so, what a wonderful family man - the movie portrayed James and Mae as a couple so in love with each other and their family even during hardship and struggles. A true inspiration.

I loved the story and the movie. I found myself moved many times duringthe movie. Both of my parents are from Ireland, and I was raised in Saddle Brook NJ. What touched me so, were the couple of scenes in the movie, that showed James fighting, and he was thinking of his family, like we all do in our daily battle.
I know you are all proud of him, he certainly earned it.

My husband and I saw the movie this afternoon and upon returning home I immediately went to this website for more information. My father and I used to watch boxing matches on television in the sixties and seventies and I once asked him how he came to enjoy boxing. My father was one of eight children born of Irish immigrants trying to help his family make ends meet during the Depression when a boxer by the name of Jimmy Braddock became a hero for the working man. Mr. Braddock inspired my father and countless others to believe that better things were ahead if you had faith, worked hard and lived a clean life. My father passed away in 1981 but his values and shared memories will always remain with me. Thank you to the Braddock family for this wonderful website and for sharing your memories with us. Thank you also to Brian Grazer, Ron Howard, Penny Marshall, Universal, Imagine, Russell Crowe, Renee Zellweger, Paul Giamatti and the countless others who helped bring this wonderful story to the big screen. This is one for the ages!

What a great inspirational movie. If your Dad and Grandfather was 1/2 the man depicted in the movie, it would have been a joy to know him. Thanks for sharing this site with everyone.

I'm from Jim's home town North Bergen New Jersey and for years I heard stories of him. I was told he was a great family man and one hell of a boxer the movie was just the way it should have been. I hope his family is proud of this movie because it showed me that all the stories I heard about him were true. And the next time I drive thru James J Braddock park i'll know way it is named for this great man.

Wow, what a movie! It's not often enough a story like this makes it to the big screen and is so riveting to watch. The "powers that be" were right to want to make a film about Mr. Braddock and his struggles and triumphs. Thanks to Russell Crowe, Ron Howard and all the others for giving us the chance to learn about this man.

Thank you for sharing your loved one with us through the website. Seeing the movie was a powerful reminder of the importance of love, character & decency in our lives. While much has changed since 1935, some of the most important lessons remain the same.

For years I have a picture hanging in my living room of my Grandfather, Al Roth.Come to find out recently that Braddock is the gentleman standing next to him. Jersey Joe is on the other side. I am not sure when the photo was taken, but it's beautiful! Now I'm really looking forward to see this inspiring movie. It is sure to bring back some good memories of my grandfather. Thanx!

My wife and I saw the movie this morning. I did not know the history of this great man. Hollywood should forget about all the negativity that they push on the American people try to make more movies that are just half as good as Cinderella Man!! Thank you Ron Howard for this great story.
