I've seen the movie over 10 times. What a wonderful gift. James Braddock is the kind of man any woman would dream of marrying. I have always loved boxing, even as a kid. James J. Braddock makes me proud to be Irish on this St Patrick's day! God Bless his family....

Just saw the movie, what a great gentleman jjb was. My dad grew up through the depresion and my uncle also. They used to tell me stories about how hard it was, but family always came first. My uncle was a boxer through this terrible time to also make some money to feed his family, he eventually went on to be awarded a golden gloves title, he was also a gentleman and a great man. JJB, if only some "athletes" these days could hold their heads as high as you did.

i JUST SAW THE FILM AND IT IS A VERY INACCURATE ACCOUNT OF MAX BAER. THE PICTURE IS NOT A TRUE STORY. WHEN YOU MAKE A PIX. STICK TO THE TRUE FACTS.
Ken Thompson - Farmington, Michigan USA [2007-03-15 16:37:53]
Loved the movie, gave it an "A". My father was born just a couple months before JJB, on 4-1-05. Movie brought back memories of watching the fights with him on tv back in the 50's. It is wonderful to know the grandchildren and extended family made this site. He would be most proud!
Betty Deithorn - Doylestown, Pa USA [2007-03-14 10:43:17]
I have never been a boxing fan, until I watched the movie. I have since began to watch and pay attention to the fights. Even my 11 year old daughter loved the movie and asked many questions regaurding the 20's,30's and the Depression. My grandparents lived through it and told many stories of the hardships. James was a great fighter. However I beleive he must have been an even better husband and father. Has for Baer, of course the movie embellished but it is not fair to insult the family and memory of James Braddock.
Best wishes.

Just saw the movie from Netflicks. Everyone at work was talking about it. Great film. For me at least, it was more than just a movie. Very inspiring. I only own 7 or 8 movies, but I will purchase this one in the near future.
The story of your Dad gives hope to every person, like me, who grew up the hard way, of the working class. In addition, the lesson of the family always hanging together, no matter what, is still important today. I am married with kids and I hope I am the father JJB was.
Thanks again for sharing your family story.

Just saw the movie on DVD for the first time and was intriged by James j. Braddock's life story and stumbled on this web site. It is great to read about a life of a man who acheived for dedication and love for his famliy Instead for power and greed of oneself. It is becoming more rare to see a real life story like this in this day and age.

Thank You for this site. I have seen "The Cinderella Man" a coulpe of times and both times it has brought Me to tears. Integrity is something WE ALL need and For sure, James J. Braddock has it! Funny too for I do not even like boxing; His story was so much more to Me. I have somewhat a scorched past and when He was fighting Max Baer, it reminded Me of the many countless times I got "thrown to the mat" and got up again. Just like this Gentleman here. God Bless You James. You are a Man. A STAND-UP Man...Many Blessings to You and Yours... Stephen Pinon

JUst viewed Cinderella Man on DVD. What an absorbing movie!
JJB was indeed a brave man whose intestinal fortitude and dedication to his family could never be questioned.
But what a loyal, loving, supportive, and wonderful wife he had in his corner. Accolades to her as well.

Just watched the movie, and will view for a 2nd time today. JJB was and still is an inspiration for all. My father told me about listening to the JJB-Max Baer fight on the radio. I now know why he was admired so much. Great Web Site!
