A great and truly inspirational man. Learn so many things from him and his family, through this film. Make me up again and realize that whatever happened, i musn't give up. Just fight! Coz this life itself is actually hard, and will always be.

I was introduced to the "Champ" Jimmy Braddock by his oldest son James (Jay) Braddock at our graduation from the Bergen County Police Academy in 1968. I shook hands with the champ and he showed ,me then that he was a fine gentleman and a warm person. We spoke for a few minutes and then Jimmy Jr and his Dad moved foof to greet the other graduates. Jay was our Class President along with another sherif officer named "Makowski" ( I forgot his first name)
The picture does the champ justice. I have viewed it several time now and find parts of the picture that I haven't really paid attention too. I love when he pummels Max Baer and when the decision is given I found myself cheering too.
James Braddock was a true champion and his son Jay was a Champ in his own right.
I have since retired from lawenforcement but I still rememeber that night when I shook the hand of the Heavyweight Champion of the World.
God Bless the Braddock Family. Your dad will never be forgotten.

After learning more about Braddock and seeing Cinderella Man I value the picture of him taken with my father in 1936 even more. While visiting Hot Springs , Ark. Braddock attended a high school football practice, donned the team's jersey and posed with my father and the coach. That 70 year old memory is now displayed prominently in my office and home

Great movie, it did however make it look like Jim wasnt altogether active as a fighter when he got a call to action again, but apparently he was an active fighter the whole time. He didnt come out of retirement to fight corn griffin, he was still fighting, just no very well. In any event, I liked the movie and why Russel Crowe didnt get another acedemy award I dont know. Who else could have played that part, tom cruise? lol, that lil fella? no

I did not know about James Braddock until the movie. It was so overwelming. To see how he overcame such great odds to get the brass ring all to take care of his family. It truly is amazing.

My wife and i watched the film a couple of nights back - best story i have seen for some time. A very humble man but a true great, from the same top drawer as Ali. Before the film i had never heard of him...well i do now and so do a lot of others! A real inspiration to us all.

Just saw the movie, and it was great. Braddock's life and devotion to family and friends is even more inspiring than his success in the ring. A real giant!

My son and I watched this together this morning, the morning of my birthday. This is a wonderful and inspiring story to share with the world. If we could share more stories like this one I believe that our individual patriotism would strengthen. Stories like this one are what built our country. People with mental, spiritual, and physical strength are what started our great country, and these are what keep our country going strong. Thank you to the family, and the great couple that had the courage to travel to this country in the first place all those years ago.

My husband and I saw this movie in the theater when it came out in June, 2005. Prior to seeing the film, we had just come through a very difficult time in our marriage and our finances. I cannot express to you how much that movie lifted our spirits because we had been in the position of selling everything we owned in order to stay afloat.
That move inspired me to keep trying and a month after seeing it, I was given an international job posting and our finances turned around dramatically.
I give credit to God and James J Braddock's life for reminding us what courage and heart are all about.

I love stories that are true to life, I feel I have a connection to movies or stories like this. I am down and out too, but I am graduating in a few weeks with my 4th college degree and about to enter the work force, and I can relate to Jim's counting change to pay the light bill. All my life I have been poor and down like James Braddock, but I have kept my head up and fought for everything too. This was a great story.
