James J. Braddock - Guestbook
Welcome to the official guestbook of the James J Braddock website. Due to spam, we have been forced stop guestbook entries.
I am not a boxing fan, but I am a fan of the Cinderilla Man. This movie was such a blessing to my life. It is living proof that through determination you can achieve anything.
Once you realize what your purpose is for fighting, you can have the victory. I thank God that they decided to make it a movie.

I watched Cinderella Man last night and absolutely loved it. The courage and charisma that James Braddock showed throughout his career was phenominal! You should all be very proud to be relatives of this wonderful man. A very touching story. Life is for living and he did it very well.

I am an amateaur boxer who loves the sport as much as any other fight fanbut watching Cinderella man the other night had me choaking back tears ! i am 23 with 2 kids and one on the way of who i love more than life it self as well as my wife samantha i am also a proud man who will not except benefit or dole money and would rather work my fingers to the bone so i can feel like everything i have i have earned, thought it means nothing to you proud Americans ! i have had offers to go proffessional at the game and with times being as hard as they are at the moment with tony blair giving all our money to immigrants,it is a desicion i must make sooner rather than later ,however one thing i swear is that i have been so moved and encouraged by his story that wether i stay amateaur or turn pro and make a living to feed my kids or become a champion i from now on will always have JJB sewn into my shorts as a reminder to me of what courage can get you and as a tribute to such a great man.

I use the Braddock story as an example of true resiliency, when people bounce back from adversity into a good situation, with my high school students. It clearly helps them come out of difficult situations. The film Cinderella man is a must see, but the printed matter is better.

I am a huge boxing fan. I have no memories of Braddock to share but I wanted to say that after watching the movie and doing a little research about him, what a true HERO the man was. His family has every right to walk tall and proud .

What a phenomonal story. Jim is an inspiration and will continue to be an inspiration to many people thanks to the movie. I think Ron Howard did an excellent job, and the Braddock family should be very proud. Best wishes to all of you.

The Braddock Family should be proud. A true american hero and an inspiration. I and my family are glad to have gotten a chance to get to know him. This should be a must for all High Schoolers who dont understand that what they have ...is there desire.... Well done Mr. Broaddock.

I know I'm a little late with a post about this man - I just watched the Cinderella Man DVD last night. Must say I'm quite impressed with his presence - liked everything about him. We just might even be related, distantly, as I have Braddock's in my NJ family from pre 1790. I'd call it an honor if it turns out we are!
Great show, great site -- thanks. Terri

Being a veteran myself it's very moving to see that you , the family not only keep Jim's memory alive by this fantastic website about his terrific boxing career but also his mental and physical toughness to also serve his country during what I believe was the worst conflict of all time.
Thank you & keep up the good work !

We think we have it bad/sometimes,no comparison ,to that" Jim" had to go thru, and many more like him in that time period."NO MCDONALDS"etc.
So "ENJOY", be grateful for everyday
we get to live in this
country.Today/Now is a Blessing, and the "BEST" day of the rest of our lives.

Braddock taught me how to be a man. His toughness and smarts got me through rough times as a fighter and a man. I lost the Golden Gloves in 1967 in the Championship round and was going to give up until Mr Braddock sat me down at the local pub and set me straight. He was a champ inside the ropes and out. God bless.

I was wondering, while James served US ARMY, if he visited a Troop Transport Broken Arrow during WWII. My Late Father, spoke of telling someone to get to end of line; and was enformed that was the "WORLD HEAVY WEIGHT CHAMPION BOXER." I'm almost Sixty, and I still remember, that story to this day. "Just wondering." God Bless! from Omaha.

what a celebration of American pride. its after midnight in my state and officially the 4th of July... i finally got around to watching this amazing movie and i loved it but it saddens me to think of the depression then and how things are now, i think this movie should be a required view for all, especially todays teens! Great great movie!

Braddock family, I am a fourth generation Irish American from West New York,N.J.With great pride and admiration watched the story of the Bulldogs rise againts odds to the championship.Ron Howard did agreat job bringing the past into todays focus.I grew up blocks from a wonderful park often referedto as park 80.The correct name is James J.Braddock park.We live in a world where the past is often taken for granted or forgotten. The population of Hudson County,No.Bergen has always been one of immigrants,Braddocks story is one for every new American to admire.I own a eating establishment outside the Broadway enterance to Braddock parkand would love to hang photos of the Heros of Hudson County,James Braddock is one,the place is called GRINGOS,I am looking for photos of everyone from Joe Coviello,toCoach Growney. Please help with info.to purchase photos.I am not looking to profit from any reference to the name or memory of any persons.I would just like to enjoy the grit and personality captured in the photos of that era,it was a time before posturing and posing, real people.Thank you.
