Please let me say that I am truly greatful for the opportunity to observe the dramatized story of the life of James Braddock. This really inspires me in my life, and please know while we all know this was a movie, I feel that his name and dreams, especially the comfort and care of his family, live on in many of us today. Thank you for this portrayal and God Bless all of you who knew him.

I just saw what I believe is a movie that inspires us all. That we can do what we put our hearts to do. A man with everything to gain and everything to lose, puts his heart and soul in to doing what lots of people say he could not do. I just want to thank those that made it possible for this movie to be shown. It tells us all that everything is reachable in life if you put your heart, soul, and desire into it. Again thank you for sharing this film with us.

I just had the chance to watch the wonderful film Cinderlla Man. Your father was a man without conviction. He was the best fighter I have ever seen in my life time. You should be very proud. My great grandfather was a boxer in the 20's and 30's and was from what my family has told me very good at it. Mind you he was from
Greece and could never understand him. This I know he knew about James
Braddock.

What can I say, what can I say, James J. Braddock is a truly inspirational individual that fought for all of the right reasons, for his love for his family. Another example of when the heart is in the right place, we can achiveve and we can overcome.
Thank You.

I just want to say that James was and is a shining example to every American what it is to be a Father, Husband, and a proud man that did not let anyone lead him off the srraight and narrow. I take my hat off to this man and say thank god to say he is a Real American in every way. And to his children you had a father to be proud of keep his name alive so that everyone shall remember him and his clean and hard working sprit .

Jim I saw the awesome story of your life tonight in the movie Cinderella Man. You’re an inspiration to us all! God Bless and I hope you and your family are well! From an Air Force veteran and former power lifter until an untimely auto accident changed everything for me. Thanks again for the inspiration.

I have always been a fight fan. I was born in 1941, so many of the old fighters I never got to see. I remember my Dad talking about Jim Braddock, and I got to see the movie on my way to Australia Nov of last year 2005. Awesome and inspiring. I wished I could have seen him fight. What a wonderful story.

I would also like to thank James Braddock III and John Van Vugt for upkeeping this website. Now we all know the fairytale is true, and not just a Hollywood fabrication.

I just finished watching Cinderella Man for a second time. The movie is very inspiring, as Mr. Braddock fought a good fight not only inside the ring, and against some very difficult circumstances that life threw at him. Like others have posted here, Joe Gould is definitely worth a mention, too...his devotion as a friend was truely a rare quality. I think we can all take something away from both of their stories.

Mr. Braddock was truely a great athlete, but the thing I most admire about his life is his dedication to his family. He put the well being of his family ahead of all else and is a example for all to follow. I only hope my children will one day thing of me in the same manner that I'm sure Mr Braddock's children think of him. Mr. Braddock has set the bar for fathers very high and we should all strive to measure up to his example. thanks for sharing his story with us.

Like many others in the guestbook, I have just watched the DVD and checked the film's authenticity on the web. Stumbling across this website really, I would like to say that there ARE some true fairytales out there. A man of determination and pride, he was probably one of the greatest sportsmen ever, highlighted by a film over 70 years after THAT fight with Max Baer. Well done to JJB III for creating a superb homage to his grandfather through this informative site.
