James J. Braddock - Guestbook

James J. Braddock, World Heavy-Weight Champion

Welcome to the official guestbook of the James J Braddock website. Due to spam, we have been forced stop guestbook entries.

As a child growing up in the 50's I learned of the boxing greats from my Dad who was one of boxing's most avid fans. I bought every magazine available to learn all that I could of these men. I can remember my Dad telling of listening on the radio to the broadcast that famous night when your Mr. James J. Braddock pummeled Max Baer and secured, to the joy and pride of "the American working man" the Heavyweight Championship of the World. The movie, I truly feel, paid homage and tribute to a great man - - the kind of man who built America. Today's sports "role models" fall so far behind - they could learn so much from this man of true character. James J Braddock IS the stone from which legend is made; how I wish that I could have known him!

I knew a little bit about James Braddock. My Dad was a boxing fan and told me about many of the great boxers of that area. St. Paul, Minnesota was a busy boxing town at one time.
I enjoyed the movie a great deal and learned a lot about this amazing human being. James Braddock is an inspiration for all of us. Thank you for the website.

James Braddock Is Yer Mates Mate - Great Site by the way, including some legendary images. However, the film deviated marginally from the book, but that is slightly pedantic. Both were excellent. Keep up the wonderful work.

I was so pleased to know that the movie was a true portrait of Mr. Braddock. Usually, you see the movie and the person wasn't at all like the movie and a lot of poetic license was used. What an incredible man!!! I was truly moved by the movie and even more by that man. I'm so pleased to know the history of this incredible athelete and human being.

Cinderella Man is without question the greatest movie yet produced in the annals of cinema history. It has all the ingredients of a classic: undaunting courage, ambition, drive, character, and nobility. It is virtually impossible to view this film in the absence of tears! This is what America truly represents in the person of Jim Braddock!

Young people these days can learn a lot from Mr. Braddock. We just don't understand what life was like for so many people, the struggle. We think we know, but we don't appreciate it. This story has changed my viewpoint forever. Thank you.

Sometimes you have to be broke to know what fighting in life is all about.
Do they make people like that still..?

I was very moved by "Cinderella Man" and I am gratified to know that the real James J. Braddock was portrayed.
A good, decent man who does the right thing without complaint is rare in our society today. We need more people today like James J. Braddock.

I loved this great story. I just cant get over how much James loods like my own father. My Dad was born in 1912 and raised in the depresion era as well. I think some of it is the hair style of that era but they are twins. God bless you both up there.
