This man, James J. Braddock is my hero. I would have given anything to meet, though I wasn't alive when he was.
After watching the new movie, Cinderella Man. I see him through new eyes, he went throughstruggles I know I couldn't face but most of all, the weirdest part he reminded me of my Father. Who has done sme of the same things but is not a hero in the boxing world but the Triathlong World.
Thank you so much for making such a wonderful site about a man that I believe is a True American Hero.

Well,well,well..Ron Howard you done it again!! You couldn't have picked a better cast and film. I went through all the emotins from laughter( turtles), crying( when his wife came in at the final fight), anxious( watching the fight). This film gives you pride in a great country we live in. Above all HOPE! A job well done! Thanks for sharing this heart warming movie.

Incredible! I just watched the movie and immediately got on my computer to look up more information on Mr. Braddock. I was sitting on the edge of my seat during the Braddock/Baer fight. I didn't know about Mr. Braddock until now and I'm 43 and have followed boxing most of my life. Mr. Braddock was truly inspirational...courage, determination, perserverance...thanks for sharing his story.

I was completely ignorant of the story of Mr Braddock until I saw the movie Cindarella Man.I'm sure there are many from my generation that still are.I'm 39 now and can't believe I have never heard of him until just yesterday.I had no idea how the movie would turn out.I actually thought this would be a "boxer getting killed in the ring " story.I was relieved and inspired when it was over.James Braddock was an amazing American and made even more so when I saw that he even went on to fight with the Marines in WW2.Then to come home and accomplish all those other things just leaves me feeling inadequate.I am truly honored to know the story of this remarkable human being and have been telling everyone I know about this movie.Thank you and God bless.

Besises "Sea Biscuit" this has to be the best movie I have ever seen. I remember my father talking about Braddock as he was an man all the Irish could be proud of. He had a heart of a lion. If Russel Crowe doesn't win an Acadamey Award for this role something is very wrong in Hollywood

I just saw the movie, & will see it again. Unfortunately, someone told me (incorrectly, in my view) that the movie was depressing, & so I was on pins & needles throughout the viewing, expecting some catastrophe at any moment. To the contrary, the movie is far from depressing. It's a truly inspiring story! Of course, what's inspiring is James Braddock & his wife, & how their stories brough hope, life, & faith into the hearts of so many downtrodden during the Depression. Praise God for working through their lives! Thank you for this website & making James Braddock's story available to all.

A great movie and even better man, husband and father. If even only half of the movie is true then James J Braddock is an American hero for all young men to look up to and aspire to live their lives.

Let me just say that James J. Braddock was and always will be a hero. I am of his Grandson's age and honestly had not heard of him until watching the DVD with my wife and 14 year old daughter. As soon as it ended I had to find out more. A true American, of any nationality. Thanks to the Family for allowing this and future generations to see what life was and still should be about today.
