James J. Braddock - Guestbook
Welcome to the official guestbook of the James J Braddock website. Due to spam, we have been forced stop guestbook entries.
I am 81 years old. I remember my father listening to the fight on radio. I couldn't understand the simulated boxing in front of the radio. The cheering excited me even tho' I really didn't know what it was about. Saw the film and got excited all over again & there I was, boxing in front of the televison set. Wish he were still alive so I could congratulate him on his courage and perseverane

What an inspirational movie. His story, along with his family, really gave me a greater appriciation to what I have now and what it must have been like to live during his time.

It is always gratifying when a man of integrity and high moral character is immortalized on the silver screen. Thank you Ron Howard. It is admirable to honor a man with an excellent work ethic, a commitment to his family and a humble approach to success. What a great movie. We need more like this one!

Great picture, one of the best. My hat is off to Ron Howard for another very fine movie. I like boxing pictures in general and was not disappointed in seeing this one. In fact, for a hard hitting pic it had a lot of heart and emotion. We need more filjms like this one.

Thanks to James Braddock's parents for making all this possible. He had a good Irish Catholic upbringing (not always most popular) that prepared him for his own ups and downs. The movie was very well done and hopefully will get the attention on dvd that it should have gotten in the theater. Thanks to the family for sharing so much about their father, and to Russell Crowe for bringing him back on screen.

I always enjoy movies that are based on true stories and Cinderella Man tops them all. great job Ron Howard!even though James Braddock lived and died before I was born his story was really remarkable. I can only only imagine the shear determination of strength and courage that was displayed to overcome the hardships they faced. He was a great fighter and glad he was recognized in the hall of fame. Awesome page Jay!

Great movie, even beter story with great family perserverance. With all the families that struggled in that time, I give thanks to the family for sharing your story. Wish I could have seen him fight in person.

Just watched the movie. Had to leave this message to say God Bless the Braddocks. This story reminded me that true American heroism is about dedication to family, no matter what. My own father(1927-1999) shared those same ideals and raised 5 kids on a factory worker's salary and never once did I hear him complain. Instead, like Jim, he seemed to always be grateful and kind and tempered. "God, family, and country," seemed to be the ideals that guided people then more than now. But I thank you for sharing your family's story through this site as it is definitely an inspiration.

This truly wonderful movie is even further substantiated by such an inspiring story. Lets just say I had to clean up spilled drinks knocked over during it's excitement.

An incredible life story and one that is personally inspiring. Growing up in New Jersey I was unaware of Mr. Braddock's story. I guess we were sheltered in Westfield!
My parents were contemporaries of Mr. Braddock and their stories of the Depression were vividly brought to life in the movie - which I saw last night. I wish my dad was still alive as I wanted to ask him about Mr. Braddock. Pop was good friends with Bobby Thompson of the NY Giants and even frequented some of the same speakeasys as Babe Ruth.
I also regret not being aware that Mrs. Braddock lived in Whiting, not far from where my parents retired in Bayville, NJ

Wow! Just seen the movie with my husband and 18 year old grandson. Even though I hate boxing I was riveted to the screen by the superb acting and directing. What a awe inspiring story! I can't believe I never heard of him until this movie. Thanks for letting his story be told. Your family must be so proud of your heritage.

I picked up the movie because Russell Crowe starred in the movie. I really didn't know what it was about, but I have enjoyed his movies and anything directed by Ron Howard. After watching the movie and the bonus features, I felt the same way I felt about the great inspirational story about Terry Fox and the great feat he accomplished by running almost all of Canada after being diagnosed with cancer. This true story inspired me so much that now I want to know everything about this great man and his wife Mae. I highly encourage everyone to see this movie. It has proven once again to me that determination, tenancy, courage, and love of family can make all the difference in the world. What a great man!!! I wish that this movie wins an Oscar!

I don't know anything about boxing, don't even watch it. I'm actually not into any sports, truthfully speaking. But it doesn't take one to know a thing about sports to be touched by the spirit of one. Thanks to the movie "The Cinderella Man" I've not only gained wisdom of Mr. Braddock; but courage within myself to face my own obstacles. May his spirit live beside God yet still stand amongst us, forever.

I would rate Cinderella Man as one of the top movies I've ever seen. Certainly one of the top sports movies. The story of how Jim overcame adversity and kept his family as his top priority is truly inspirational. I would recommend it to anyone who is going through a tough time

Leave it to Ron Howard to dig up a story about how a can be down with his luck and yet never gives up - very inspiring - James J. Braddock is all about heart and pride - since the movie came out - I've recommended it to people who are having a hard time with life...I just wished that the movie was made earlier - specially during the 9/11 crisis....great website - James III you sure are proud to be related to 'THE MAN'......
