James J. Braddock - Guestbook
Welcome to the official guestbook of the James J Braddock website. Due to spam, we have been forced stop guestbook entries.
Truly inspirational story, your grandfather was one of these people that the Lord blessed our world with. I am a big boxing fan, and had heard of Jim Braddock only as a brief mention, now after having seen the movie and researched his life, he has become for me an icon not only in boxing, but a symbol of strength, love and true family values. I feel honored just being able to write these humble words about him. God bless you all, and long live "The Champ".

I loved the film and enjoyed the website information. So much, in fact, that I would like to send a signed copy of my book, A YEAR SINCE YESTERDAY, to Mr. Braddock's family members to show my appreciation for what James Braddock gave ALL American's, proof that the impossible can be conquered. Please provide me with a mailing address.
Sincerely,
George Edward Zintel

I just saw the movie for the first time and was utterly moved. I grew up in North Bergen and was a highschool wrestler there. I found myself to tears with this story. Being that I am a proud son of North Bergen, I was taken in by this mans struggle and desire. Needless to say, I don't think I will ever be the same. Just to here him refered as "The Bulldog from North Bergen" sent chills down my spine and stood the hairs of my arm at attention. I never knew who the park where I watched my highschool football games at was named after. Not only do I know now, but I am proud. A real life hero among my small hard-working town. Next time I travel back home, I will look for a monument about him. If I can't find one, I will do what I can to have one be made. To his desendents, I say be proud. It's an honor if for the length of the story to be a part of the legend. Thank you.

It is rare that a fighter exemplifies quite so aptly that boxing is 1% muscle and 99% heart. Here's to James J. Braddock and all the rest of tough Irish buggers that have proved just that.

I am so disappointed! I was born in Weehawken and raised in West New York, NJ and I had never heard of James Braddock. I was so thrilled to see in the movie that this great man was raised in the same town as I was!!

I have always considered myself a knowledgeable sports fan; yet, I never knew of James J. Braddock. I have watched Cinderella Man 3 times and I find it amazing how although I have seen it more than once, I still weep at the ending. I find joy in the fact that a movie could produce such an incredible portrait of the depression and the people who lived through it. Great job on the the film; but the tale is what truly mattered. The story of James J. Braddock is an inspiration and has fulfilled something in not only my life, but, several other people lives as well.

I have always felt a special link with James J. From early childhood, I can recall my grandpa Braddock telling me stories of a famous boxer in America with the same family name as ours.
I watched the movie tonight and realised what a great man James was, I am proud to bear the same name.

What a great story! I watched it with my wife Suzy and our 14 year old son. Jim's love of family and friends is as inspiring as what he accomplished in the ring. I am a pastor and I hope that he saw God at work in his life. It was truly a modern day miracle!

Just watched this movie; what an uplifting, heartwarming story told in just a wonderful way. Every marriage and family could only hope to have the love for each other that this family shared. Beautifully done; and this website is great, too. Nice photos!

I had heard of the fight with Max Baer, but never knew about the man behind the fight. I think what I saw from the movie is a man, his wife and children that lived a life that helped to mold this country and help it become what it is today. Sadly today though, we are missing that spirit betrayed by the Braddock family. So, we thank you for the love and the spiritual faith that your family lived.

Not too many things bring emotion to my heart, my family is one and the movie portraying Braddock's life definitly made me feel his pain.
For a moment, it is like your in his shoe's cold and hungry and still a brave and loving father able to give his hungry daughter his one slice of balogni. When he won the Max Baer match, fully aware that he would or else the movie wouldnt have included it, I felt like screaming which I may have actually done, how dare the decicion take that long!! World Champion or not Braddock is a man that set's a standard for men even today when speaking of honesty, kindness, love, and ofcourse courage.

Jim Bradock is a true inspiration to many people - of that I am sure! We watched the movie "Cinderalla Man" last night and it really did touch me that he was such a principled, caring man. It is encouraging to see that movies are made about real heroes who put family first and did not abuse drugs or alcohol and was faithful to his wife.

I have been wanting to see the movie for weeks and weeks, finally it was available at the video store.
It was worth waiting for.
Like another comment here, I also sat on our sofa, hollaring and yelling with each punch.
And what a great story of inspiration.
My Mother often talked about the hardships of the depression growing up.
This movie touches your soul, and even better because it opened my eyes up to the incredible real life story of J.J. Braddock.
All I can say is: "What a Man, and what a life."
Happy his family is caring on the message.
