James J. Braddock - Guestbook

James J. Braddock, World Heavy-Weight Champion

Welcome to the official guestbook of the James J Braddock website. Due to spam, we have been forced stop guestbook entries.

I have to say, he was an extremely humble man with a wonderful wife at his side. Before I saw the movie, I looked him up, read the bio, then saw the movie. Other fighters I've read about often were flamboyant, but not JJB. He's truly a man to be emmulated...

Honestly, I had never heard of Jim Braddock or the movie Cinderella Man until a few nights ago and I was compelled to watch. What a man!! He was so great, yet so humble - I know many struggled through the depression era, but you never get to hear much about it - this man, and I'm sure many others, had to swallow pride daily to take care of their families. I can't imagine what those times were like, but in Mr. Braddocks case, I can only imagine the desire to save his family is what drove him to fame. God Bless the Braddock Family...

This was a great movie. Depicts life in the depression I know raised by my folks who grew up through it. My dad was an amatuer boxer in the 30-40's also played ball for the Husky's. Those guys did it all then.and that was what tough was all about. Watch hard times with Charles Bronson and you will see.

I am from the small Montana town that Jack Depsey & Gibons fought, the only professional heavyweight fight ever fought in our town. After reading about this story & watching the movie, I only wish our town had Jim Braddock fighting in that historic fight, over any heavy weight in history. How proud America should be of such a REAL Hero!

My father loved boxing, he watched it in person at the Missouri athletic club and took us to matches and watched on TV, he boxed himself as a young man in Alaska. Thank you for honoring this man in such a great way. My father would have been proud to see his movie and connect again with his joy of boxing. Thanks from my heart too for bringing back good memories of my own father.

What a great movie to watch! I had no idea who Jimmy Braddock was. I loved how he was a loyal man to his wife even though he had fame. He was an honorable man and this movie was a tribute to his character. Ron Howard did an excellent job. The movie keeps you thinking about it way after it is finished.

James Braddock is an inspiration to everyone. You are truly missing out if you have not yet seen The Cinderella Man. Fun fact : Did you know Max Baer played Jetthro Bodine on The Beverly Hillbillies.

I just watched the movie a couple of nights ago and can't stop thinking about it. My grandparents had talked of the depression and the stories of putting their families on trains, grabbing milk as they went by the depots as people would hold it out to them so they could survive, etc. Braddock's story to me is of the awesome determination that a Man, Father, Family can have if they stick together and give it their all. Awesome. I had to look up more info and I'm glad his grandchildren are continuing his legacy. You can be proud as a lot of us can be of our forefathers/mothers. Thanks to Ron Howard for being true to the real story as best he could in a short span of time. Russel and Renee did a great job too. When you can get a guy tied up in knots by him wanting to see Braddock knock Max Baer's teeth out, you've done a great job. Best movie I've seen in a long time and a great departure from the normal garbage that shows up in Hollywood.

I warched the movie the Cinderella Man over the weekend. I thought it was a great movie. Not only was it about a great man who shook his pride to do what he thought was right to feed his family. It let us know how hard it was in those days and years through the depression. The cast and characters did a great job. Mr. Braddock is an inspiration to me
