James J. Braddock - Guestbook

James J. Braddock, World Heavy-Weight Champion

Welcome to the official guestbook of the James J Braddock website. Due to spam, we have been forced stop guestbook entries.

This was a great movie that inspired our nation as a whole. I teach History at a local High School and I think more students should know about real movies and how they affect our society.

I'm not what you'd call a fan of modrn movies. I but never doubt the judgment of Russell Crowe or Ron Howrd. What a pair they make. And what a story, and what a man. I wish I could have only met the real thing. AS the old saying goes the mold was broken when they made Jim Braddock.

I just wanted to say that my husband and I watched the movie last night and I'll admit, boxing movies aren't my thing as a woman but I fell in love with it. Such a wonderful story of a true husband, father and man. He did everything he could for his family and I'm so glad to have felt like I knew him for those few hours watching it. I was out of my chair cheering him on!!!

Today is the day after my husband and I watched the movie on DVD. I am still thinking about the James J and Mae, the depression, the jobs, the boxing, WWII, the docks, the character of this man and the strength they both had. My husband put it best as the credits rolled when he said "Now that's a man". Thank you to James and Mae for being an inspiration to us all. Thanks to the family for sharing and to Ron Howard and the cast and crew for bringing the story to us.

I have never heard a story about courage and decency in the world of boxing like what I heard and saw in the Movie. I went to this web page and found out much more about what a great gentleman James J Braddock was.

James J Braddock is especially an inspiration to the underdog and to all men. Due to his determination, courage, and moral integrity in which he conducted himself under difficult times he is truly a hero.

Mr. Braddock is the true definition of a man. Not a mans man. Just a man. A hero. If only some of us men could be half the man he was. May his spirit live forever.

Just finished watching Cinderella Man. I cannot imagine what James went thru during the Depression. His amazing rise to the top is an inspiration to everyone in the world. To persevere thru it all and maintain his loving family his a feat in itself. In these days when people give up so easily when times get tough, all they need to see is Cinderella Man and BELIEVE in themselves. My hats off to you James Braddock. Thank-you for changing my life. May you rest in Peace.

God Bless Mr. James J. Braddock. He lived an inspired life and his legacy lives on. I watched The Cinderella Man this evening and I was touched. It gave me the opportunity to share with my 15 year old daughter what a true "role model" looks like. May his story touch families throughout the ages.

What a great man and family!!! The movie has refreshed the fire in my belly. It was an honour to have a peek into your family history. Thank you for that. May your name stand proud for eternity. Sincerely yours, Brian

Wow! I was feeling low this Christmas season with a run of unexpected bills and no presents to give when I was reminded of how rich I am. I didn't have to experience the Great Depression and I'm rich with family and health. Thanks for a great reminder. I pray that your family is encouraged and thanks for opening up your family history to share with us.

i watched cinderella man the other nite and what a great movie. It was unbeliveable the comeback power. And what he did to keep his family going, he was an amazing person in and out of the ring. James is clearly a great role model and a great boxer. Go irish!

Great man. Great movie. I wish I could've had the chance to experience his greatness and kindness. What a role model he could be for so many young people. If only people in this day and age gave as much care and dedication to their families as he did, our world would be a much more stable position. You all should be proud to have some of his blood running through your veins. Kudos to Ron Howard for all of his direction in bringing to the public such a great story. I wish you all peace and a very blessed life.

I used to have one all time favorite movie. Now I have two. Braveheart and Cinderella Man. As I've told my children, take a theme or subplot from the Bible, lift it out and adapt it to any cultural setting and you have a winner every time. God values freedom and justice, family and integrity and these two men along with their noble wifes embody them all. May I be half the man James J Braddock and William Wallace were. Thanks to God and Hollywood for a soul stirring journey back to the future.

I just cannot believe what an incredible man James was. I have been a public school teacher for 31 years and talk to my students daily on integrity and being a "man." James Bradock truly exemplifies both those qualities.

In this day and age of no heroes and no decorum, thank God I can show my students what I mean when I am pushing for excellence.

I was moved by the story of Mr. Braddock as presented in Cinderella Man, which my husband and I just watched a couple of hours ago. So touched, that I wanted to find out more about this incredible man, and the most informative and inspirational source has been this website. How amazing it is to read about his life, and also to see messages posted by his own family. This site proves that it is not just a great story. He truly was an encouragement to many in his day, is still today, and will be for generations to come. Never have I enjoyed history so much as now!

I wonder what James J. Braddock would think about how many people have been touched by his story, and by how far reaching his story has become. In reading many of the messages here, I am struck by how many countries these posts come from.

It shows me that there are so many of us that have the same feelings honour, determination, pride, humility, and fierce need to provide and care for our families no matter where we come from. He is a true American Hero, but more than that, I think he is an inspiration to humanity.

If we try to lead our lives, and instill in our children the same feelings of pride, morality, and responsibility that James J. Braddock embodied, what a wonderful world that would turn out to be.

Thanks for your inspirational life James J. Braddock.

I have to say that this was hands down one of the best movies I have ever seen. There are so many movies that you see and forget 10 minutes later but this is NOT one of them. This world would be a much better place if more of us had a fraction of Mr. Braddocks pride, determination, and love for our families. Movies like this make you dream big and isn't that what life is about?

Great story about a great MAN! The movie was very good, but the books were better. Michael DeLisa does a wonderful job and is very informative in his book "Cinderella man". Any chance of see more pictures or movie clips of JJB on here?
