Based on the movie Mr. Braddock was truly a man of integrity and a symbol of the type of person who made this country great. A very inspiring and refreshing message.
Thank You

Thank you so much for putting together this beautiful website. I was absolutely smitten with the movie and wanted to learn more about the remarkable James Braddock. He showed a sports figure who was in it for human values - rather than just to make a dollar. It is wonderful of you to share family photos and info. Thanks again.

My wife and I saw the movies this afternoon, we were both very moved. James J. Bradock's story shows us how tough life has been for some of the generations which came before us. He is a true inspiration, this story will definitely be added to the ones I already have set aside to tell my son someday when he is old enough.

What a fantastic set of revues. I think I agree with each and all of them. Ron Howard has done it again. It remended me of just how bad the depression was....and it was bad! Braddock is an inspiration. Happy 100th birthday!

I just got back from seeing this phenomenal movie. It is so great to see a movie about an individual who never gave up. Braddock's love for his God, his family and his country certainly to be greatly admired. This is certainly an inspirational movie that was done superbly. Thanks, Braddock family for this website, and thanks Ron Howard for another great movie!

I have just returned from seeing the movie. I have no direct memories of the Champ, but my dad was was one of his biggest fans. He often told me about the great James J. Braddock when I was a kid. Watching the movie, at first I was sad that my dad is gone and it came too late for us to watch it together, but as it progressed I had the wonderful feeling that my dad was there watching with me. Thanks to all who helped make this wonderful movie.

I have seen the movie Cinderella Man, and I thought it was excellent. James J. Braddock's story is truly touching in a way that I have not seen in a while, especially in a movie. I defenitly recommend seeing it!!!

I not only viewed Cinderella Man but was inspired by it. I spent my child hood in West New York, NJ and was very impressed with the love Mr. Braddock had for his family. May God bless all who embrace this wonderful life!

I grew up in North Bergen, NJ. I havent seen Cinderella Man yet but plan on it. When i heard who the movie was about, i realized that Mr. Braddock must have been from the same area because there is a park in North Bergen named after him. I found this site and now that i know more about him and the fact that i grew up in the same town and played alot as a child in the park named after him, it makes me want to see the movie that much more.

My husband and I saw Cinderella man yesterday and what a wonderful story it told.

Mr. Braddock was "a true renaissance man" there aren't too many of those in today's world.

We were so impressed by Jim's dignity even during the rough time and hardship he went thru along with Mae, who never lost respect for her man, to keep his family together.

We're very glad that Jim's story was finally brought to the screen, acted by fine actors and directed by Ron Howard.

Thank you for a great and moving experience in viewing this film.

Like many people, I had never heard of James Braddock and have also never been a boxing fan. However, my daughter and went to see this film last night and we were both incredibly moved. Jim Braddock's determination to uphold his morals while struggling to provide for his family left a deep impression on my 14 year old. With all the garbage at the theaters these days, a big THANK YOU for the Braddock family in sharing your story with America and Ron Howard for making it realistic.

In a day when it seems families fall apart so easily, it was overwhelmingly touching to see the fervor and determination James J. Braddock had to keep his together in the toughest of times. Beyond heartwarming, his story defines what I wish our world could be more like now. Devotion. Loyalty. Love. Determination. Purity. These days, troubles come and families fall apart. Thank you for this story . . . may all who watch this film take a part of it into their lives and see today's world through James J. Braddock's eyes. He wasn't just a great fighter. He was a great man.

Where are the great men of today?

There are no words eloquent enough to fully express the pride and admiration I have for Mr. Braddock after seeing Cinderella Man. To those who were blessed to have known him, what an honor it must have been. Heartfelt gratitude to the Braddock Family for sharing him with us, to Russell Crowe for believing in the story, and Ron Howard for an incredible movie.

The movie was superb, but only a movie. I am seventy years old and remember the stories my Father told me of the Great Depression. The GREATEST achievment of James Braddock as a MAN in my heart that brought tears to my eyes was when he returned the wellfare money. The HUMBLE PRIDE he must have felt cannot be reproduced by any actor. He lived before my time and I never met him, but I love the MAN.

About 35 years ago, I worked as a missionary in Central America. After seeing the terrible poverty there, I resolved never to take for granted the blessings of modern life in the USA. Seeing what Mr. Braddock's family went through just reminded me of that resolution. What an inspiring story, beautifully told. I took my youngest son (15 years old), and we both loved it. Thank you, Ron Howard, for another incredible movie; and thank you, Braddock family, for this great website.

I too have seen the movie twice and plan on seeing it many more. Inspirational to our entire family. God Bless James Braddock and his family and Ron Howard for bringing it to everyone. This movie has impacted my views and feelings for my family..past and present.
My grandfather, Jerry McVeigh a golden glove champ and promoter on the west coast during the same time Mr. Braddock was the Champ.
Thank you Braddock's for reminding us how great the American Spirit is and reviving the Pride of the Irish!!!!

I have seen "Cinderella Man" twice so far. It is a truly inspirational film that everyone needs to see for themselves. Thanks to Ron Howard, this story will be shared and loved for years to come. I was touched seeing a man with such great faith and devotion take on all the hardships of the depresssion and loss of his fortune. James J. Braddock knew just what the most important thing was in his life... his family. With family, you have it all. No money or fame was as important to him as his wife and children. Bless J. J. Braddock and his family...past and present.

What a touching example of integrity, humility & courage.
Having seen the movie, one cannot but admire the man, his devotion to his family & his willingness to sacrifice.

Mr. Braddock's relentless spirit in the face of adversity: the true measure of a man of conviction!!

It trully is inspiring to see a man who's true love is family and who would do anything to provide for that family. In today's era of movies, so much is fluff and pomp where sometimes your not sure what's real or not - it's incredible to know that the story of James Braddock is real. After watching the movie, I feel inadequate as a father and that I should be trying harder to provide for my family. I loved the movie, but have enjoyed getting to know the man even more! Thanks for this great website.

Hello... I thouroughly enjoyed this movie and greatly admire James. My father (deceased) used to tell me about these great fights of the century and I relived them in the Cinderella Man movie vividly. There is a sports broadcaster in Phila that is spreading around that James owned and operated a brothel. It does not fit the man and I could not find any information to substantiate the claim. Is this really true? If yes..what when did this occur in his life? thank you, Dave

We went to Cinderella Man last night. The movie moved me in so many ways. I cried in many parts because he loved his family so much. Although I didn't know about James J. Braddock until the movie came out, I have a great respect for him and who he was.
