After watching this movie for the first time, all I can say is I am so proud to be an American! Not only did Mr Braddock have the truly American quality, "never give up", he was a strong family man, and he had values that this country was built on. I am truly amazed that he paid back his government assistance! Who does that today? We all could learn something from him. And I am a better American getting a glimpse in his life.

A true American hero.

Russell Crowe's portrayal of Jimmy is truly inspiring. One of my favorite movies, one of the few that is really able to reach my heart.

My favorite movie is the "Cinderella Man", the portrayal of James and Mae was done with a great deal of respect. I feel that this movie has been very inspirational to myself and my family. God Bless the Braddock family.

Everytime I need encouragement, enlightenment, and most of all a wake up call,...... I watch "Cinderella Man". He is my Hero and when im down and out on my Irish luck, his storey brings me "back in the black". Thanks so much for this site and all you've done with it!

THE GREAT HOPE OF THE IRISH WAS WHAT MY GREAT GRANDFATHER USED TO CALL JIM, AS I ALSO SAW PORTRAYED IN THE MOVIE. THE IRISH AND ALL MANKIND ALIKE SHOULD STEP BACK AND THINK ABOUT WHAT IS REALLY IMPORTANT IN LIFE. NOT MONEY, OR HOUSES OR CARS IT IS OUR FAMILIES AND HONOR OF OUR NAMES.

My wife and me working hard for our 2 children,night and day,its not easy,you know.But life story of this man will give us more self-confidence.

I'm a huge fan of boxing. My cousin who used to spar along with his brother, got me into it about 15 years ago. I have the movie "Cinderella Man" and have to say it's one of the best I have if not the best. It and this website gives tons of info about Braddock and his family. Excellent photos, awesome family and family history info. Leaves me wanting to know more and more about the Braddock family history. Whoever put this site together did a fantastic job. Love it. Think it's the best one on the personal life of a fighter and champion.

I jujst finished showing Cinderella Man to my 11th grade US History class. My students were enthralled by Jimmy's steadfast dedication to his family and sport.After seeing the movie for the first time I went the next day to New Jersey to Jimmy's grave to pay respect to this American hero. We need more people with the will and moxie of James J Braddock!!!

just got through watching the Cinderella Man movie and it was fantastic. Had to check out James Braddock's life story here on the web. Would have like to seen more up to date pictures of his children.

He was a kind, caring and loving father. Jimmy Braddock was also a courageous fighter someone who persevered in tough times.

Wonderful web site! Thanks for putting some of his real fights on here. After I watched the movie the two things that stuck with me outside the ring action was Mae�s hair was just like my Grandmothers, and the moment he paid back the money to the government I thought to myself that is what my Grandpa would have done. We get caught up today on who is or isn�t a good role model in sports and Hollywood. There are no questions to be asked whether or not James J Braddock is a fine role model on how to be a good man. When you watch the end of the real fight and he is anounced as the new champion, I noticed he rushed over immediatly to shake Max Baer's hand and then celebrated after.
I respectfully request you continue to add more data on Mr. Braddock�s life to include his military service no matter how mundane you may think it may sound. Men like Mr. Braddock are why they can call them the greatest generation.
