great movie hell of a man and fighter.

Thank you for this site honoring such a great man. His story touches me deeply. I will reference him in two sermons that I will deliver today emphasizing the authentic power of courage and humility.

He was SO AWESOME! Cannot believe how well Russel Crowe portrayed him. And they look alike.
But no really... Jimmy Braddock was an amazing man.

I just finished watching Cinderella Man with my journalism students. It is an awesome movie, and Braddock's story touched all of us. I had never heard of this remarkable man until now, what a wonderful story of love and devotion to family, of determination and true American grit!

Cinderella Man is my favourite movie off all time James J Braddock has the most incredible and touching story that i have ever heard my respect and my thanks goes to James J Braddock and his family. Thank you for realesing your story to the world.

I am always reluctant to write on message boards....though this is some great exception. I can honestly say the James J Braddock displayed qualities in a human being that I would endorse to all. His love, passion and work ethic is something I will always use to inspire me. Simply a wonderful human being and a great man. Thank you for sharing his story - it truly has touched me.

In a time where people are out of work, countries are in turmoil and hope seems to come up short...The life story of James Braddock brings back that spirit of never giving up. Despite the odds against him, James put his all into his success...his love for his family. In today's age, so many people forget what's important, things like family and such. I think everyone should take a lesson from Mr Braddock and maybe if they become half of what he was, the world would be a much better place.

Last night I watched the entire movie uninterrupted. What an amazing display of courage, tenacity and determination. There are a lot of people struggling because of the economic downturn and it just goes to show that with integrity and belief in yourself ANYTHING can happen. The strength of character HE had was an inspiration !

Over the years JJ Braddock developed a close relationship with J Edgar Hoover. Is it known if he gifted anything to Mr Hoover as a memento of his ring years? Any photos documenting their friendship?

I have just watched the film for a second time, and what an inspiration Mr Braddocks story for those of us all over the world, true courage from a true american from an englishman.

James Braddock was truly the american dream he not only fought for himself and his famliy but he fought for america.R.I.P James.j.Braddock

The move "Cinderella Man" exemplifies the courage and determination that many exhibited during The Great Depression. Our 9th grade class at Mormon Trail gained a perspective of what life was like for people in different social classes during the decade.

I've seen the movie last night and I was so touched by his story. With today's recession, I look at James Braddock as a great inspiration to all Americans who tried to make ends meet for his family, to persevere no matter what it takes. His life story proves that believing in yourself is where your dreams will take you to achieve even the impossible. He is truly a great example to everyone, an American Icon. Thank you to those behind this website.

If everyone says times are tough now, then they should watch Cinderella Man over and over again. The story of James Braddock still provides inspiratoin to people all over the world. As my girlfriend and I watched the movie with a tear in our eye, we couldn't stop thinking about how we wanted instill the same family values that James Braddock did in his. God Bless.

I just watched "The Cinderella Man" last night and I was so amazed at all that he stood up for and how he didn't lose hope in anything. Jimmy Braddock was one of the greatest Americans history will ever know.

I am writing this to let you know that my father is a big boxing fan and Mr. braddock was one of his favorite boxers even to this day.. As i got older i asked my father how come he gave me the name james and he told me the story of a great boxer named James j. Braddock and wene i saw the movie cinderrella man i was more than happy to be named after such a great man.. I dont know why its took me this long to tell my story but there you have it.

I made a mistake in that last post. Laura Josephine Braddock was the niece of James J Braddock.

I was talking to my father today and he said my great grandmother, Laura Josephine Braddock is James J Braddock's cousin. Does anyone know which brother is the father of my great grandmother? I will have to ask other family members about it because at this time, my father can't remember.
