James J. Braddock - Guestbook
Welcome to the official guestbook of the James J Braddock website. Due to spam, we have been forced stop guestbook entries.
I watched the movie tonight with a good friend who was alive when the fight actually happened...it was great to also get his prospective. He was also a fighter in his youth, and used to watch Joe Lewis train in our home town of Pompton Lakes, NJ. It was great to find this web-site. The actual fight footage was fantastic, I was curious to see if Max Baer acted as he did in the movie...you could see he did. I look forward to sharing your web-site with my friend. Mr. Braddock was truly a great man!

this isn't just a movie.. he was a real man found the love in everyone and cherished what he had and who he loved. James J. Braddock is my Great Great Uncle. i was there for some of the filming and Ron Howard did a fantastic job on recreating who Jimmy really was.. and thats a Family Man. im glad you all have positive feedback and couldnt be happier that he has touched your lives as he did my whole family. he will be missed.. and always loved.

The man was an inspiration as a father , a model of a true husband and a beacon to those who, because of the depression had to find joy in the deeds of others. I am sure there are other people like this and we should all look for them every day and try to emulate them.

Thank you for this website. I was encouraged to watch the movie and wanted to find out more. I realized movies are "based" on a true story so I wanted the real story. That man was an inspiration during a difficult time and is still encouraging now. I will recommend this movie and his story as it was recommended to me. We are strong and will not participate in the recession!

We need James J Braddock here today. At a time when the "American Dream" looked to be all but gone, James J Braddock proved to the entire nation that the dream was still possible if you never give in to the urge to quit or listen to those who would tell you your dreams are not possible. Thank you Mr Braddock. We as a nation would be far better off today if more James J Braddocks were around.

My daughter watched the movie "Cinderella Man" in one of her classes in school. She came home talking and talking about the movie! I just found the movie at a thrift store and bought it and we watched it as a family. Jim Braddock is an inspiration to us all, especially in these economic times. Thank You, Mr. Jim, for your service to our country. God Bless Your Family.

saw the movie last night. I thought it was very inaccuarate, the way they portrayed Max Baer. What a lie about his character. People should do research about history before they make a movie.

After watching the movie I was curious about this great fighter. I found this great site showing a bit of what this courageous was. He is an example of determination. Congratulations to him and those who do not let this legend be forgotten.

I really enjoyed the film and was interested to know what happened next so thanks James for putting this website together. BTW I noticed he mostly fought exhibition bouts after the World title. I am very glad that he only put Mae through one more real fight, she must have felt every blow along with him.

I've seen the movie many times and saw it again tonight. Everytime, I'm moved and inspired by what he accomplished for his family. He was a regular guy who demonstrated to the nation going through tough times that there's nothing greater to fight for than your family and pride. Thank you for creating this website; it has allowed me to learn a bit more about the legend James J. Braddock.

What an incredibly inspiring movie for the ages, and not one really foul word!!
That being said, it harked back to a time when being on "the releif" was about the worst thing that one could do; not like today when it is considered a forgone right.
Also, it portrayed what the period was like: maybe a portent of what might happen in the near future.
Life isn't supposed to be easy, it is life. You make your own luck in this world, so toughen up and don't feel sorry for yourself!!

in my previous message about jimmy's book signature, i failed to give kudos to russell crowe for using braddock's distinctive
calligraphy in the autograph scene. it was an amazing performance and definitely deserved oscar recognition. but i shall never figure that bunch out...i think crowe is shooting over their heads much of the time!

what an inspirational man! after viewing the movie in 2005, i decided to do a painting portraying his comeback while doing add'l research i came across a book from the inter-library loan in nj which happened to be signed by jimmy...the temptation to purloin this treasure was great, but how could one do such a thing when one so admires such a man? so temptation wasn't as great as the man about whom the book was written. i definitely believe jimmy was kissed by god.

I've just finished reading The Cinderella Man by Michael Delisa - what a story and what a man! If the book didn't say it was a true story you'd think it was made up. I admire Braddock more as a father and a husband than a boxer to be honest but here's a bloke who had real guts. This so-called Depression won't be producing fighters like him...too soft these days!

Great Boxer, but apart from that great person

I've heard of Mr. James J. Braddock and after seeing Cinderella Man, I feel as though I knew him. My guess of Ms. Zelwegger's performance was on the toe to toe with the late Mrs. Braddock.
Meaning nothing short
of "SENSATIONAL".
Great American Spirit and a Great Movie.

I think that the movie of James J. Bradock typifies how strong the human spirit is, and what anyone can accomplish if they truly put their mind to it. This movie has to rank as one of the best movies i have ever seen. I wish I could have been alive at that time to wittness this great achievement. We would all do well if we could try and live the life that he led.

Tenha fé e faça tudo que for possível. O resto acontece.
