Apart from his great boxing record. I was so impressed that Jim went on to serve in the military during the war and was particularly interested to read of his family and about Jim's life after boxing.

Wonderful story, wonderful man. Good luck to your family.

One of my childhood neighbors gave me the Cinderella Man dvd to watch, asking me to tell him how I liked it.
Well needless to say I LOVED IT! I had heard of the boxer Jim Bradock, but had never heard of the the "man" Jim Bradock. As impressed as I was with how he handled himself in the ring, I was awe struck by how much his family meant to him. What a TREMENDOUS MAN. He and Mae are the best Role Models that someone could look up to. Mr. Bradock and Joe Gould looked like they were tremendous friends and Joe Gould sounds like he did everything he could to help Jim and his family, the sign of a true humanitarian.
Mr. and Mrs. Bradocks children should be very proud of their Father and Mother.
Also, for Jim and Joe to serve their country at an age when most men wouldn't, just shows the quality of their charactor.
Ron Howard, as ussual, did a fantastic job protraying Jim and Mae in a troubled time in our country.
After viewing this movie, I am proud to call myself an American!

I am very glad you decided to share this mans history with the world. James Braddock's life will inspire many to never give in, even when life deals a shitty hand. You are so lucky to have this kind of heritage I know you are very proud.

i too just viewed the wonderful movie on the life of james j braddock...he was an amazing man...i see why they called him the cinderella man...a loving husband and father and a caring human being...my father was on guam and saipan at the end of the war and said that he heard stories of mr braddock being there and how he gave the men who served with him such hope for the future...he inspired many a young man during the hard times of the depression...he left a great and lasting heritage for his family...and the website his family has kept is just fantastic...thank you for sharing him with the world...

James Braddock was a very brave man. My mother and father talked about him and thought highly of him. The movie "Cinderella Man" could only do him justice. Be proud of him.

I just saw the movie for the first time on TV What a wonderful story!! Jim Braddock kept his integrity through out his life. Our nation is once again facing a difficult time. I pray our nation and it's leaders can show the same integrity that Jim did.

He was a family man for sure. A true hero and GENTLEMEN. I'm so glad he is in the Boxing Hall of Fame.

Wow. I just saw Cinderella Man and I was blown away. James was such an amazing man, who loved his family so dearly. I was truly touched by this movie, and I am so grateful to now know the story behind the great James Braddock. What an inspiration.

Saw the movie last night, it was excellent as well as the portrayal of James Braddock. What a loving, caring man, for his family. Deeply moving. I know you all are proud of him and his legacy!

Just saw the movie on television last week and was very impressed with the depth of character Russel Crowe played.
I wanted to check the web to see if the real man was as he was portrayed accurately. It seems it was, Mr. Braddock was a great man.

I hope the Ron Howard movie was mostly true, because Mr. Braddock was an inspirational man.

Saw the movie over the weekend and I thought everything about it was awesome! The strength and depth of the man and his family was truly inspiring. The story's stayed with me over the last night or two and I just had to get onto Google to find out a little more about J J Braddock's life to see if the movie exaggerated in any way. I'm delighted to see that it did not; gave a true account of a remarkable man. An Incredible life!

This movie is an inspiration! It is a sad commentary of our time that it was not the best picture of that year. I am researching Jim Braddock and the mans life is amazing! Thanks for the site guys!!!!

After watching Cinderella Man for the second time I was inspired to search for more info on the man who's love of family, work ethics and tenacity spoke for a generation in their time of need. His dedication to family and his amazing wife both teach us lessons in compassion, devotion, and commitment that this country could benefit from today...especially considering the selfish world we live in today.
Keep families together during times of adversity, be grateful for what you have, and don't always look for the easy way out.
The Braddock family should be very proud of their legacy. I hope they know how his humble story has touched the lives of so many generations. God Bless

I just saw the movie tonight on television; the scene where Mr. Braddock dreamt of a steak and gave his daughter his breakfast moved me to tears...so too the scene when he gave back his relief money. A proud and inspirational story especially in times like ours. Thank you to Mr. Howard for sharing it with us.
