I just finished watching the movie, and wow what a story. Had such a great lesson of family and true values and morals. This man's life was an example to be followed. God Bless him and his generations...

My dad was a boxer, but not on the same level. This movie made me recall the similar hard times we had growing up; however, they didn't seem as hard with my mother and father working together to get through it. I remember times when all we had to eat for months was bags of rice, flour, and oatmeal. My father too went out daily to find work, and my mother would make the best pancakes (for breakfast) and rice and gravy (for dinner). We wouldn't have meat for months. All too often, when things go bad people want to leave their mates rather than stick it out. a co-hero in the life of Jim Braddock was his wife Mae. She stood by her man and that played a significant role in keeping the family together. Had she not done that, things might have turned out differently, but who knows? The life of Jim Braddock is a lesson in "Family". Especially now, families must stick together, no matter what!

Mr Braddock's story touched my heart and has given me hope and strength to perservere in these tough economic times. I'm always grateful to God for revealing such stellar examples of people and how they have faced adversity.

I chose to do a report for a college class on the movie and Mr. Braddock himself. I love this movie, and I am happy this website has come to be. I loved finding more information about the fighter himself. He tells everyone that even if you are at rock bottom, the best will still come out!!

When I turned on the television last night, this movie was playing. I almost turned it off as boxing is such a brutal sport to me and I felt that I didn't want to see the earlier version of the hard times we are in now. But I just couldn't change the channel...I had never heard of Jimmy Braddock, but I was so moved and inspired by his story that I now find myself here learning more about boxing than I would ever have thought. Of course, I had heard of Joe Louis. I remember listening to matches on the radio with my father when I was a child. Mr. Braddock represents that Greatest Generation, of which my parents were part; and he represents the finest and best in all of us. The character that shows up when we are up against the wall. I am so grateful this movie was made, and so happy that I got to know the story of the Braddocks and manager Joe. They are truly great and good Americans. I hope we will all keep that quiet courage and dignity in mind as we deal with the hardships in our lives. Thanks so much.

I just finished watching the movie. I found it very inspirational. Having recently lost my job and the current economic instability in the country, to know as long as you keep fighting on you will succeed. If ever there is a time for people to see this film it is now.

I just watched the movie about Mr Braddock. And i had no idea that we went through a great depression in the 1930s. I some what seem like something that we could be having in 2008 with wall street once again. But i enjoyed the movie, it showed me that you could be so big one day and lose everything in a split second. Thanks

I just recently saw this movie on television, and was so moved by the true story of this great & inspirational man and his wonderful family! My TV does not allow me to read written words on screen, so I was very frustrated to not be able to read the sentences that were displayed at the end of the movie -- so I searched online to hopefully fill in the gaps about what happened to Braddock &et al from that time till his death. I found this excellent site, which I assume has answered those questions. (?) We need more great people like James Braddock in this country & the world!

I have watched Cinderella Man so many times and each time I manage to learn something new about this great man and his family. How inspirational especially in these shakey economic times. I truely appreciate this mans values of family and his integrity. It helps me put into perspective of what is important.

Just seen the movie for the first time and was rivited to the TV. Had to see his site and learn more about him. Thanks for the website! I will have to watch it again to see his daughter. He was a good man and provided for his family the best way he knew how. He looked to be one of the good guys too. I hope I get to watch his movie again.

I'm going to show Cinderella Man to my three sons and show them what it was like to have everything and then lose it so quickly. Mr. Braddock is a picture of fatherly love and responsibility that I want my sons to watch. The times we live in seem to be headed towards it and it's all right with me-hardship brings character. Thanks so much!

I wonderful man and a truly inspirational story. I work as a support worker in a supported rooming house for the disadvantaged, many of whom have lived on the street at one time or another, some of whom have led quiet successful lives, and like Jim have just had bad luck with know one to turn to. Jims story is a wonderful testiment of the human spirit, and a example of what we can achieve If only we have that little bit of luck, someone to help you stand, and enough belief in yourself and something, to keep you going, till you get to where you belong. I Recently played Cinderella man(the movie) for a group of (disadvantaged)clients. During the movie you could of heard a pin drop, but after the movie finished I looked around the room, clients had tears rolling down their cheeks (as well as my self) some had smiles from ear to ear others could not stop talking about how much they loved the character. This is from people who you would be lucky to get a hello and a goodbye let a lone a show of emotion, prior to viewing the movie. I realise that hollywood have highlighted some parts of Jims life and obviously changed parts to make the movie more colourful, but the achievement of a poor 30year old 130 fight veteran, that came from the bread line to the top of the world to become the heavyweight champion is written in stone no hollywood script neccessary for those are facts, and the rest is just the icing on the cake. I think that Jim would be proud and full of pride in what he stil means to so many people 73 years later . And now through this movie Jims story is now accesible to another generation. And that his story is still inspiring people to dream better lives for themselves and their loved ones.....2 other special mentions go to Jims wonderful wife and your great grandma, because the saying that behind every great man there is a great woman is absolutely spot on in this case..........I can only imagine how Mae sat through 130 odd fights (always at home) while nursing, feeding and supporting 3 kids. In this story she is really the unsung hero. And to Jims wonderful trainer and brillant manager for managing to snag the 10% deal with the brown bomber and for playing his part in getting Jim the title shot........The world we live in now could do with some more Jims, Mae's and Joe's coz they just dont make em like that no more, no they dont p.s is the story true that Jim brought the kids turtles after the title shot

The film inspired me to search for more about the man. His humility and integrity are what helps to make a great story, about a man from what I fear is a lost generation. I wished my father were alive to have watched it with me.
