J J Braddock, he really is an inspiring man, to be reminded what some people believe in and how they fight to get it...well he has my respect. So does his family.

Having just watched the film I used the power of the internet to see what I could find on the man. Seeing the real fight was incredible. Seeing this fight, round by round really was a part of history in the making. It was also really good to see photos of Jim and his family.

I have just watched the film 'Cinderella Man' and then found this website.

Not normally a lover of boxing films, I found it absorbing and uplifting and its subject, Mr Braddock, a worthy subject for such a film.

He appeared to be one of those people in life to whom the word 'good' is a very suitable title.

I believe also that it is a measure of the man as a boxer that he lost his title to one of the greatest heavyweights in history.

My regards to his surviving family and friends.

Just watched Cinderella Man. What a great movie about a great man. Gonna take the DVD to my Dad tonight. He's 89 and grew up in the Depression. He'll love it and be sad at the same time. Probably the best movie I've seen in the last 5 years. Should have won more awards. My generation have no idea how hard life was only 80 years ago. This movie is a stark reminder. Well done the Braddocks and well done Ron Howard.

I just finished watching Cinderella Man. I enjoyed it...and found it inspiring. Which is why I wanted to read more about James Braddock. I was glad to see he didn't just have a fairy tale rise to HWChamp. but a noble life as well. Great courage...God Bless.

Cinderella Man is a favorite movie of mine. I am a big fan of boxing. When watching the movie I wanted to learn more about James J. Braddock because I thought that what he went through was amazing. I loved how the people thought so highly of him. How many people were behind him in his fight again Max Baer. I think that he is just an awesome man who had such a great family to be behind him.

Played kickball on 78th street in North Bergen and would watch him walk the streets. He would stop and give us money to buy ice cream in hot summer days..
Always remembered that..

I just watched the movie and was greatly moved. I prayed that he would win (being mindful that events had already transpired). I was moved by his tenacity to provide for his family/his love. . . all which spoke of his character. I also loved her support of the family and her husband (smile).

I do not watch many movies. Seeing it at this juncture was quite timely and helped me "own" more personally why I do what I do (at this juncture).

I have been showing Cinderella Man in my English class for 2 years.
The acting, directing, and inspirational plot make for a wonderful and entertaining way to discuss literary elements. Cinderella Man is one of my all-time favorite films (and I'm really picky). It is a pleasure to share this inspirational true story with my students and to recommend it to others.

After seeing cinderella man it actually saddened me in a way to know that such a courageous and noble man fought in a time way before mine, and unfortunately i wasn't around to have witnessed such a fairy tale career. It's a shame you don't see boxers with the same heart as mr.braddock fighting anymore, you are truly a champion in and outside of the ring.

may you rest in peace

I am watching the movie now and it is very moving as we are close to a depression and we have had some of those hard times before this. I wish I had that stamina to endure as they did, in the future we are getting into. Great movie!

I watched the movie just after it was released on DVD, then for the second time today. Was impressed even more with the second viewing. How wonderful a man (and family) to give so much back to the community and to our country he did throughout his life.
