been meaning to watch this movie ever since it came out but didn't get around to it until the other night and it was wonderful. I was so touched by Jim's story. I would have loved to have known him and his wife and children.

I just saw the movie, "Cinderella Man", this morning Aug 2, 2008. What an inspirational movie. Although I didn't know anything about James J. Braddock, other than his name, and he was a boxer, I found him to be honorable, and a decent human being. What an incredible testament to human race. Long live, the memory of James J. Braddock, who really was, the working man's hero.

We just watched the movie, again, and it touched us both to see the man's determination to do wat he had to for his family. I thank God that we have such inspirationaly heros in our past that we can point to and say "Now there's a man who knows what family is about."
He didn't do it for fame and money - he did it to keep the food on the table. weather "it" was working the dock, or taking a punch, he didnt shrink from it.
Thanks for the inspiring story.

He was a hero in our household. My mother turned 25 a month before his championship fight with Max Baer and she talked about him and his character our whole life. She used to say "the heck with Notre Dame, the Pride of the Irish is with Jimmy Braddock!" And she said he single handledly began the end of the depression with his determination and grit. God Bless James Braddock.

What a wonderful movie, and what a joy to know that this man was real, not a Hollywood character dreamed up for a "feel-good" movie. While his fairy-tale comeback is inspirational, what makes this man so truly remarkable was his devotion to family. If only people today were so devoted!
Thank you for sharing the life of this incredible man with the rest of the world

This was one of the best movies I've ever seen. To think it was based on actual events in the life of James Braddock is just awe inspiring. I just wish more people in this current world we live in had the morals, ethics , and principles of this great human being.

To the Braddock Family:
I watched the fight again last night and what struck me about James Braddock is that he showed all of America that a humble but determined man can do amazing things when he acts and James Braddock inspired millions of Americans who needed inspiration so desperately during such a difficult time in our history; I am sure he set the example for many ordinary Americans to greatness in their own way and during the war as well. I grew up in New York and saw many fights at the Garden including Muhammad Ali v. Frazier 1 and love boxing and the example set for us all. He will continue to inspire ordinary Americans to greatness through the movie as he did in his time and to his family I send my heartfelt congratulations for having such a man in your family and thank you for having worked to keep this website up for us other ordinary Americans still plugging along. God Bless and thank you again very much.

I saw the movie last night 7/20/08 and couldn't stop thinking about my parents and grandparents. My mom grew up in Jamaica NY and Dad Brookland, he was born in 1922 and told me for years how hard things were then. My grandfather worked on the docks of the hudson river. I googled today about Jims family and see his wife moved to Whitting NJ and thats where my grandparents had moved to later in life. It was truly a great movie.

I recall my dad, who was born in 1922 and boxed in the Navy during WWII, telling me about listening to the Braddock-Baer fight on the radio as a kid. It never meant much to me until I watched this film. What a well made and told story. Thanks for making this film. We've enjoyed it several times and it is always a true inspiration. God bless the Braddock family!
Sincerely, Marcus Nicolls.

I just finished watching the movie "Cinderellaman" I jumped online to see what I could find on Jim Braddock, I am truly moved by his story and life, I have been a boxing fan for years, from when I was a young boy, my father and I would watch the likes of, Palomino, Aguero, Roberto Duran, basically anyone that was on the tube, Knew the names of Louis and others but not real knowledgeable about some of the early days of boxing, Movie was GREAT, The story was better. God Bless.
