Just finished watching the movie . i was moved with the way he showed the grit. Wanted to know more about him and found this site. Amazing movie...whenever you are low..watch this movie or read about him...you get loads of inspiration..... Love to watch it again and again

just finish watching the movie..he is really an incredible man..those things that makes him fell,the lessons behind that,i'll remember...he's just..awesome..fully recommend this movie..

I became aware of this website due to the movie Cinderella Man. My late Father, Raymond was a young man during the depression, in Philadelphia. Mr. Braddock was a hero to my Dad during the thirties, and he told me a lot about the fights back then.

Eu gostei de conhecer o Sr. James Braddock. Sua história é triste e bonita. Pena que tudo passa e as pessoas também. O filme que levou o nome de Cinderela Man mostra uma bela e emocionante história.

James J Braddock, wow.. After seeing Cinderella Man for the first time, I went out the next day and bought the movie! I cry everytime I see it. My great grandfather was a boxer during the great depression. He was a golden glove winner, and a member of the local San Jose, CA boxing league. This story of James J Braddock really hits home for me, being that my great grandfather died in 1939, I never got the chance to know him.. James J Braddock is an inspiration to me, and his story is truly amazing, how one mans love for his family gave him the strength to succeed in his career, along with the strength to survive during one of the hardest times in our nation's history, the Great Depression. I truly wish I could of had the pleasure to meet this man, because he was truly an American Hero of his time, and through out the rest of history! Just watched the film and wow, what a guy, no more to be said.

I remember my Dad talking about Jim Braddock. We are originally from North Bergen where Jim was from. There is a park in North Bergen named for him. Does anyone know where in North Bergen he lived?

I watched Cinderella Man tonight in a tent in the middle of a desert in Iraq. I cried. Thank You

I just watched "Cinderella Man" again tonight. What really touched me was the deep love that Jim Braddock had for his wife and children. He was a real man of character and integrity. We need more men like that today.

The story is a real inspiration to anyone who has the belief that there is no such thing as a second chance in life. One should only read the story in order to know there is tomorrow no matter what life brings them. “IT IS A GREAT DAY, A GREAT DAY TO BE ALIVE.”

It has always been an inspiration of mine to see how America became what it is today and James Braddock brought pride to many Americans either just arriving or rooted. Don't let the story die!

i didn't know cinderella man was based on a true story... and i'm glad it IS a true story. it's a relief to know that there was a james j braddock who inspired the americans especially during the great depression. we need more people like braddock. if he were still alive, i'd thank him and embrace him for dear life when i see him.

Great idea to have this site to honor a great man!! JJB was a real fighter, you must be all proud of what he did for his family.

They just don't make them like James J. Braddock anymore. The true and honest athlete that can struggle to the top on guts without all the hype.

mr braddock was and still is a grate man becouse what he did in life is still here to this day, now thats the sign of a true hero! i am a boxer myself and although the styles of boxing have changed over the years i have watched some of braddocks fights and he had amazing skill and ring craft, and that right hand wow!!! he is a true hero and its true when they say "they dont make em like that anymore!"

This is a man, who sums up the Irish people. He tries to work for his family, go to mass, help his neighbours and most of all give it his all!!That movie really shows the way the irish were treated and how much we contributed to the making of what America is today!!!!


So to Americans thank god for people like jimmy braddock, hes what made your country today!!

Not too many boxing, or for that matter, sports movies come close to the inspiration that Cindererella Man gave me. Coming from a traditional Irish American family he makes me proud to have come from a 2nd generation Irish family. He was a champion as man first, and champion as an athlete because of his God-given talents.

Just watched Cinderella Man and had to google J. Braddock in the last 10 minutes of the film as i was afraid he might not have won. What a tremendous human being. It's such a pity prople don't have the same morales and values today. The scene where he makes his son return the salami to the butcher evokes memories of my own childhood. James J. Braddock makes me proud to be Irish. I hope all future Braddock generations have enjoyed prosperious times and can learn lessons from the past.
