iam doing a poster for history class on Braddock and his family and how they were effected by the great depression and its due tommarow

Hey i'm doing an essay on the grest depression and i've seen this movie before and i thought that it would be a great example. I love the movie and respect James J Braddock!!!

this man and his strengths as a person are truly inspirational...as a US recession looms in our economy today, a reminder of what people went through during the depression as depicted in the film and his own biography make me thankful for what we have...God bless

I as a young man fought as a fly wieght, Bantam wieght, feather wieght and a light wieght (all amature) and I remember watching my heros of days before and Mr braddock was one of my biggest. I would watch his filims ( in Hawaii KGMB station had KGMB presents the fights every Sat. and would show the fights from the early twenties to the present, at the time 1970) and Jims fights were shown many times. What a great fighter and now because of the wonderful movie I have a good mental pictue of the man and father. God Bless him and his

I am watching the movie Cinderella Man for the first time today. I am not a boxing fan, but for the first time I can see why someone would find meaning in this kind of sport. And the movie leaves an impression of Jim Braddock - and not at least - his wife, as remarkable people.

I think James was the greatest man alive. My grandfather grew up watching him and said he was " the man". He's an inspiration to all.

A great story that helps everyone to stand up and fight. Jim was an mazing character and a role model for the new generation.

My husbond and I watched the movie for the first time yesterday and were I really moved by the story (!) and the first thing I had to do this morning was to know more about the REAL James Braddock and not the "Russel Crowe" JJB, which lead me to this website. Wauw - what a man! I hope he will never be forgotten. All the best to his relatives. Keep his memory alive.

James Braddock is then personification of what is great about America. It would be a great honor to have met him. I think of him often an am deeply inspired by his example as a real man and human being. God bless the champion.

A beautiful story about a beautiful man who just happened to be the heavyweight champion. In these days where athletes will be the first ones to praise themselves, Jim Braddock was a TRUE gentleman. God bless him!

Jim displayed tremendous courage and loyalty to his family during an awful time in the USA. He rose above it all through sheer determination. He is one of my heroes, and I watch Cinderalla Man several times a year, especially when I need inspiration during a tough time.

I was born in 1947 and my dad in 1923. My father was a young kid during the Depression and we both were Veterans, WWII for my father, South Vietnam for me. I remember the stories my father told to me how a poor so-called over-the-hill fighter became the Heavyweight Champion of the World by beating Max Baer. Times were tough during the Depression and my dad and uncles told me all about it, good to see a poor stiff show the whole world what he was made of. Thomas V. Gunn

This man is an inspiration to the human spirit. It is people like this that give the true meaning of courage,determination, and inspiration.
I would hope people that heed of the his past, and what he was able to achieve against all odds.

I say he was a great man, who had to fight for his and his family's life. It's so heart breaking to see what he had to face. I say there should be more people willing to put their caurage a step further to help out his/her family.
