James J. Braddock - Guestbook
Welcome to the official guestbook of the James J Braddock website. Due to spam, we have been forced stop guestbook entries.
Sadly, there are very few heroes left in this world. Over the past year, I experienced a number of personal setbacks. It was during that time, that I came across the story of the "Bulldog of Bergen". The true life story of James Braddock helped pull me through those times and is a true inspiration. Thank you for preserving the memory of a dedicated fighter, a proud American, and true family man.

You could feel something tugging at your heart when you watch this movie. As we live in a world today that is full of corruption and lost hope. The true life story of James J. Braddock will have you reflecting on your own life and will leave you reaching for something higher. Everyone in this world has a story waiting to be told and you never know who that story will inspire. James J. Braddock has inspired me and that struggle is only part of the story to our own lives.

i'M NOT THE BIGGEST BOXING FAN, BUT A FAN. I WAS TRUELY INSPIRED BY JAMES BRADDOCKS STORY. ONE OF MY FAVORITE SCENES IN THE FILM IS WHEN BRADDOCK IS IN THE RING, HE GETS HIT AND NEARLY TAPS OUT. THEN HE BEGINS TO IMAGINE IN FLASHES OF HIS FAMILY, CHILDRENS EMPTY BEDS, PAST DUE BILLS, ETC.

Absolutely inspirational! I don't care for boxing and was surprised when I got into the movie, I couldn't stop watching it! Russell Crowe helped, even though I'm a 60 yr. old granny...tee hee! He truly was a hero to many....it gave me the hope to carry on with my fight for health.
God bless you all!!

Cinderella Man is one of my favorite movies. I probably watch it once every two months. Of all the inspirational sports movies, the story of Jim Braddock is the only one that brings a tear to my eye everytime he wins the Heavyweight title.

My son, Trent who is 15, watches this movie at least 2 times every month. Before he plays in his ice hockey or soccer games, we always say "Cinderella Man" to remind him to play with pride, guts, and determination. It is our favorite movie to say the least. I was so impressed by this man and role model for all. I am a dad and proud father of 2 boys and this movie keeps you focused on what life is all about. God Bless JB!!

After watching The movie Cinderallaman, director Ron Howard, creates a masterpiece based on this man's faith to fight for the essencial comforts for his wife and children. In a world where material pocessions can be the number one contender Jim Braddock delivers winning blows to illustrate that his family and faith are his top priorty in his life. A large purse from his winnings are important but his love for his famliy are most precious. Jim Bradock's posterity today seem to love him for his courage and great, KO message about family values. Thank you jim Braddock for instilling in me part of your spirit to be a cinderallaman in raising my famliy.

After watching "Cinderella Man", which is a wonderful movie, I remember my father who was about the same age as the principal players talking about the boxer, Jim Braddock when I was a teenager in the 60's. He remarked one day, after watching old boxing films on our TV. That guy gave us hope, a real American Champion. Thanks to Ron Howard for bringing the story to all of us.

Just finished watching the movie for the first time. OMG James J Braddock was a man of men. An inspiration to those who believe that you can do anything you set your mind and body to accomplish. Anything is possible if you only have faith and the support of family. Thank you Ron Howard for bring this story to the screen! I am moved...

Just watched the movie last night and was very moved by this story. He was a champion of the under dog and inspired a generation of people during what was a very difficult and trying time for many many people. God bless you, Bulldog!

Truly a wonderful inspirational man. In times of extreme hardship, to show such loyalty to his family, staying true to his upbringing and values. If only more people could follow his awesome example. I watched the Cinderella man for the first time yesterday and cried most of the way through it. What a story!! I have the greatest respect for him.

looking for information regarding Max Baer and if he ever was the ref at a fight in Norwalk CT in 1958. I bought some hats from an estate sale and there were 2 beautiful mohair hats from the 1950's in boxes. There is a receipt from a store in Norwalk CT to Max Baer from 12/28/58...anyone know?

I just finished watching Cinderella Man directed by Ron Howard. Mr.Howard and Russel Crowe captured the essence of family life for me in this movie. I know the feelings that Mr. Crowe was able to communicate through his artistry. I've felt that fear and sense of responsibility.
Jim Braddock was a well trained, professional boxer. He almost lost everything due to circumstance, yet did not back down. He did it for his family and his children. Anyone who has ever tasted poverty and still got up each day and went to work knows this desperation. Jim Braddock came from the same stock as my family. His story is more than a boxing story. It is about love and family, courage and trust.
Thanks .
