What a great man! He was just 17 days older than my father, who grew up in Brooklyn. After seeing the movie "Cinderella Man," I can honestly say that he is one of my heroes. The guys who run out on their families today when things get hard should be forced to watch the movie and learn about the courage and faithfulness of James Braddock.

I just saw the movie. If it was at all true to life, Jimmy was a wonderful person. I wish I had a husband like him. My own Dad was so much like him, a real family man, totally devoted to providing for us the best he could. God bless you, Jimmy, and RIP.

I always watched boxing with my Daddy, so when Cinderella Man came out I was anxious to see it. What an absolute beautiful movie! It was so human, to this day when I watch it over and overe, I always cry over just how loving and special Jimmy was and how much he loved his family, the lengths he went to for them and how refreshingly humble he remained. Too bad fighters today don't have 1/10th the class combined that Jimmy had in his little finger! God Bless the Braddock family!

I have just finished watching Cinderella man for the 10th time. I cannot stop watching it. I love Russell Crowe in anything he is in so when this movie came on (which I taped) a few nights ago I watched it. I love the old boxing matches of years ago. I am a female 68 yrs old and have raised 8 children 4 boys and 4 girls totallly alone. Now I cannot work and health failing I am in the worst possible financial trouble then I have seen in years. My father was of welsh irish decent. Was the town drunk, but a sweet man who loved boxing and would have me sit by the radio and listen to the Friday night fights.
He told me many stories of the sport and the fighters. Now as I sit alone and live in memories of the past. I have few things which make me stand up and care and take notice.
The story of Jim Braddock is one of them. Thank you all who made the movie about a human being for a change. It was clean and clear (no sex, no murder, no blood) Thank God for that for which we are smothered with everywhere. I was born in 1939 so alot of what was in the movie I can relate to. I truly love this movie.
again thank you for making it.

The story of Jim Braddock is an incredible example of courage, determination and above all, love. Having seen the movie about his life, I can't help but believe that Jim was as gracious and virtuous a man as that of the person depicted by Russell Crowe. His is a story that should be told to anyone who is overwhelmed by life's challenges and needs a boost of courage and hope.

I wish we had more role models like J. J. Braddock around today. The movie based on his life is my all time favorite. It has made me even more interested in knowing more about the man not the boxer he was. Thank You for having this site for me to say how much even today, he has effected my life views.

I'm a retired Marine. I believe this gentleman was a patriot and a warrior. If the movie be accurate, he loved his family and was a true hero. I would have liked to have met him.

Until I saw the film 'Cinderella Man', I had no idea who Braddock was, to me he was only a familiar name in boxing. Obviously a great movie about a great man.

For as long as I can remember, I shyed away from watching boxing, because I didn't enjoy watching others hurt each other. I guess I watched fights from my era and saw that much of the fights that were going on were purely for the monetary gain. I, too, recently watched Cinderella Man and was moved to tears on numerous occasions. I believe that James Braddock knew what life was really all about. Faced with the Great Depression, many of decent men and women gave up, but not Mr. Braddock. He pushed and oushed until he knew his family was taken care of. That, ladies and gentlemen, is something that alot of us have lost in ourselves for the longest time. I would hope that maybe one day, we will get back to the values that truly matter. Thank you Mr. Braddock for being such an inspirational human being!!!

My late father told me about Jim Braddock years ago. Seeing the film brought back many memories of so many families' struggle during the Depression. This man gave all the others hope!
