James J. Braddock - Guestbook
Welcome to the official guestbook of the James J Braddock website. Due to spam, we have been forced stop guestbook entries.
James J. Braddock reminds me of another man I know, my dad the Reverend James B. Wood. No he wasn’t a boxer nor a nationally known figure but he seemed to always do what was right for my mom, three sisters and me. He too survived the Great-Depression and volunteered and fought in WWII. I totally agree with the comment made by the previous Mr. Blair regarding 1% of Americans, boy do we need some of James J. Braddock’s today. They don’t seem to make them like that anymore. A wonderful movie about a wonderful man.
Great web-site I will return often.

My family and I just watched Cinderella Man and it was one of the greatest movies we have seen in sometime. We looked up James Braddock and found this website. It has been a blessing reading about him and his family. Thank you for sharing that with mine!!!

One of the most powerful movies I have ever watched! James Braddock was the icon for grit, determination, and stamina. Truly, a story that if not based on truth, one would have said, "Oh yea, like that ever really happened!" If 1% of America had 1% of Jim Braddock in us, this would be a different country!

It is so encouraged movie that 'Cinderella Man' which is directed by Ron Howard. Personally, I got that body connected with mind can do anything, just like you fight for. Thanks~

There are only a handful of movies I deem worth watching over and over. This one, and this man, is one of the top 5 of all time. I was very impressed with the man and his integrity and grit, but even more is the wonderful love story of Mae and Jim. That's how a man and woman shouild love each other.

I, like others, came to know James J Braddock through "Cinderella Man." What a wonderful experience to learn about the boxers of that era and the great hardships that were endured. Love the site; the variety of pictures and fight footage are a great.

As I am having personal health issues. I find the story of James J Braddock rather inspirational. I beleive the mind body connection was something that Jim Braddock used to his great advantage and success. I hope to do the same.

Caught part of this on TNT HD the other night. I liked it so much, I then DVR'd a second showing of it later & watched the whole thing today. Great movie about a great story. Truly inspiring and it gave me a glimpse about just how hard those times were.

What a great story about a great man. Truely inspiring! This was the first time I had ever whatched the movie and I am sorry I waited until it came out on TV. I will be purchasing a copy of the movie for my video collection. There are a lot of people that could learn from this man. Life is not a hand out it's what you make of it, and you have to earn what you get. My thanks to the Braddock family for sharing this store with us.

I think Cinderella Man was one of the best movies I have ever seen. It reminded me of another movie, also that was inspirational. It was about a long distance runner named Steve Prefontaine and his short life on this planet. Think you so much for sharing your family story and history with the world and may God richly bless all of the family. Clifford O. Yawn

Even without a fancy musical soundtrac, this presentation still beats out "Rocky". Does Mr. Krowe spar in real Life ?

A truly inspiring story. My father was born and raised on the West Side, and listened to the fight as a 10 year old. He taught me and my 9 younger brothers to box, which I did at West Point, to my great satisfaction. I taught and sparred with my oldest son, too, before he went to VMI. Still workout with a heavy bag at home from time to time. Wonderfully inspiring story of true grit and heart and toughness and love. A treasured part of my DVD film library.

I've seen the film before, but last night I forced my 11 year old daughter to watch with me. She began by telling me how bored she was. She finished in tears, deeply moved by the story of the man, James Braddock. Thank you for this site. I know she'll enjoy seeing the photos and video and other material. It's a great inspiration.

I would like to say that watching this movie for the first time was quite inspiring. This man reminded me of my own father, Honest, Hard Working, and a Family Man, there is nothing more you can be. I just wish that we could all take a look at this Man and apply some of his values into our lives, the world would a much better place for it. Thanks for showing such a Great Man, and a truly inspiring story... Sincerely Steve Wegher

WOW! If only there were more men (or people in general) like James J. Braddock. My sister saw the movie "Cinderella Man" for the first time tonight...I saw it for the 15th time. She called me...and we were both crying. Truly inspirational. I'm in awe. I've always said - the best things come from Jersey!!

AS I WATCH THIS, I THINK OF MY MOM, WHO LOVED THIS STORY.IT MAKES YOU REALIZE THAT ALMOST ANYTHING CAN BE OVERCOME, AND IT MAKES PROUD TO BE JERSEY BORN, EVEN IF I GREW UP IN CALIFORNIA.

I've seen the original shots of his fights, the movie and read Mr. Braddock's story countless of times. His life is not only inspirational, also a real example of integrity and perseverance. When things look challenging to me, I go back to the movie and re-gain strengths to continue fighting my next "round".

I have seen this movie when it 1st came out, and then on DVD, and now when u get the special surprise of it being on cable ALL NIGHT!...This movie is so real, and all about heart and persiveirance, and that light at the end of the tunnel, that we all have! (Pardon my Spelling)....After I watch a very touching true to life movie like this one, I often google or research the "real people" who inspired this lovely movie because without them , we would never have knowof great people like your family since we live in different times. To the ENTIRE BRADDOCK FAMILY: You have a beautiful hereitage both in your Irish-American Roots, and your family's journey through the toughest times in America. I am so happy that you all lived and continued to live beautiful lives today. May God Bless Your Family, and Never forget your ancestors. It's so hard now-a-days to find that stuff.
My grandpa was a"Golden Gloves boxer" featherweight in Brooklyn around that time. I would love if I had more info on that. Vincent "Goldie" D'Andrea, from East NY.
Again I think your site is a great dedication to keeping your family history alive today!
