I just bought the movie after seeing it twice. It has special meaning for me since my roots are from Paterson NJ.
My dad was born 1932 and told me many times how his father had to wait on line for work during the depression and if he didn't get work for the day he would get his father's lunch. He told us how my grandparents almost had to split but because my dad's Aunt Elenor gave my grandparents $5. , they could buy milk and bread, and stay together and get through a bit longer.
My Grandfather also had a uncle who came from Ireland and worked in the silk mills as a ten year old child who went on to be a United States Senator, instrumental in passing the child labor laws during these times. It is amazing the accomplishments of people in these days and the incredible will to survive. We owe so much. I truly admire men and women, like James and Mae who fought to move ahead and keep striving.

James braddock is the epitamy of an American he stood for hard work his family and his pride. Cinderlla man should be placed among the all time great inspirational stories. Amazing that it is as true as it gets.

"CINDRELLA MAN" one of the best movies made by the RON HOWARD and i came accroos this website after watching this movie so many times and can JAMES J BRADDOCK as an inspiration for me and my life.

I have seen Cinderella Man and been to this website many times since the movies first release. I just watched it again and it is the greatest boxing movie i have ever seen (and I have seen Raging Bull more than once). It is a very emotional story and one that I am glad was told. My best regards to the memory of Jim and his family.

Mere words cannot tell how much this man was an inspiration to so many. I loved the movie and was glad to see that it was so accurate. Many thanks to those responsible for giving us this really great website.

What an inspiration Mr. Braddock is to anyone who has ever been down on his luck and to those who have never known such hardship. It has been a pleasure to read and learn about such a great man. Thank you to those who continute to share his story. I will be passing it on to my own children.

I just finished watching Cinderella Man and James Braddock was an incredible person with so much inner strength as well as physical strength. This web site is an incredible tribute!

After watching Cinderella Man for the first of many other times I became an admirer of him. Jim was a great man first of all and than a great boxer. For me as a father of 3 kids as well an life-exemple to follow !!!! Receive my sunny regards from Brazil Jim´s grandson !!!

just watched the cinderella man film for the 1st time. got to say he was a real warrior and a fighter who wouldnt couldnt quit and as a fighter myself i take my hat off to him!

My father was an Italian Immigrant thru Ellis Island in 1907. He and my mother went through tough times in the depression but always spoke about Jimmy Braddock and what he meant to them. Great Movie, Great site

my mom sent me on this quest to find some history on mr broddock and i found way more than i bargained for what a wonderful sight.

Just watched Cinderella Man because I am a Russell Crowe fan but didn't see the movie at the theater. Now I am a Jim Braddock fan. What a great family man, an inspiration. I am impressed that he went on to be a great businessman and remained so true to his family and his roots.

Great site, honoring a great man. Recently a popular sports web site had an article ranking the 50 greatest fighters of all time. Mine was one of many comments posted that expressed dismay and disgust towards the authors of the article for not including Jim Braddock's name on that list. As any serious fan of the sport will tell you, James J. Braddock, quite possibly more so than any other fighter in history, is the embodiment of the physical and emotional strength, courage, ingenuity, and heart that has made boxing such a wonderful sport. I am very satisfied to know that with a very well produced film, many new people are learning about him, and finding inspiration in the story of his life.

i just watched the movie cinderella man and i was inspired by the life of james j. braddock. he was down and out and yet he rose from the top against all odds this is a grace of God in his life.

James J Braddock is one of the greastest men that ever lived. It isn't just his boxing career, but the man he truly was that makes him so great. He gives inspiration and hope to even us today that is down on our luck and a hope that we also can return to our feet. Cinderella Man was one of the most heart felt and moving films I have ever watched. Thank you Ron Howard for bringing it to us.
