The story of James J. Braddock is fascinating, and so improbable that nobody could possibly make it up. This website and the movie "Cinderella Man" are a good tribute to an extremely tough individual.

I think that this site is a great idea and great all around. I believe that this site is a great homage to a great man, and there should be more websites honoring other great people of history, who went through their own stuggles. So often the people in our history seem disconnected from events of today, but websites such as this allow us to connect to people from our history and learn from them.

The movie is way better than any of the Rockie movies because it is both more realistic and inspirational.

I really didn't know who James J Braddock until i saw the cinderella man . I just started watching it today and i think te movie is really sad. It actually reminds me of the war that happened in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and how some people lived there. I can really connect to this movie because I saw people in this situation when war was going on in my country, and it brings tears to my eyes just watching the movie, but it is a really good movie, anyone who hasn't seen it yet i think should.

The movie was one of the best I have ever seen. I am proud to carry the Braddock name and heritage. I am looking for Ray Thomas Braddock, who was stationed at Camp LeJuene around 1960. If anyone knows something regarding his whereabouts, please email me, it would be appreciated, there is a medical issue regarding contacting him.

I grew up and lived in New England for over 35 years.I am an Irish/Scott American. My da ,whom I have an undying respect and admiration for(he raised 11 of us kids and served very honorably in WW ll)talked about listening to fights on the radio when he was growing up.Jimmy Braddock was a name he mentioned very often as an inspiration to all Irish and Scott Americans. This country needs another Jimmy to find itself again and to put the Irish American back into its rightful(and well earned )place amongst boxings elite. There has to be another out there that has the heart and stamina and passion to carry on his legacy.Or did all that pass with Mr Braddock?God bless you James and god be with your family.

I am from North Bergen, NJ-Braddock's hometown! My whole family is from the area and most remain there today. My grandfather was a boy during the Great Depression and has told me stories about Braddock. He used to shine shoes and often shined those of McCarthy at his hang out in North Bergen, which was a bar on Bergenline Avenue across the street from the park that was named after Braddock. (The name of the bar was Joe & Mary's) The Champ is still a local favorite in and out of the ring. Cinderella Man was great movie about an even better man!!!

Having been born in 1938, I didn't have the chance to see Jim Braddock in person, but my dad and brother did and they considered him a hero. Being Irish, that was nice for me too and I adopted him as one of mine. Cinderella Man was a great movie and a testement to Jim's life. We are all better for him having been in our midst.

My father was a great heavyweight contender during the 1950's out of Jersey City and Long Island NY.James Braddock and my dad were great friends for a long time and I have some great pictures of them appearing together at various times. Both men had very similar boxing careers with the exception that Mr Braddock became a champ in the ring. Both men are in the NJ Boxing Hall of Fame. Please go to the NJ Boxing Hall of Fame website for further info on both of these two top notch fighters of the golden era of boxing.

I had never hear of Jimmy J. Braddock until the movie Cinderella Man. Everytime I see this movie, I am reminded of how suddenly you may lose everything and that you need to maintain your morals and principles to survive. Your grandfather is a great inspiration and sets an excellent example for every youth today and in generations to come.
