this was a great movie.i am 38 years old and grew up with 10 siblings.my mother and father were kids in that era
and my father was in an orphanage.MY LIFE has been hard and was very successful in the mid 20's.i have since lost it all,have 3 kids and am going thru my own GREAT DEPRESSION very similar to CINDERELLA man.i can say i am inspired and hold this movie close to my heart with what is going on today in AMERICA and my life.i made my own way in life on my own, and am glad i was raised OLD SCHOOL from parents from the great depression era..
i am truely gratefull for my elders and what they have to say and what things were like back then.i will get thru these hard times LIKE jimmy BRADDOCK did.i get chills and teary eyed when i watch this movie.its like i am there, can relate so much and actually have been inspired by this real life movie drama....
thanks for listening i will be the 2000's version of jimmy braddock!...
my respects go to the OLDER FOLKS HERE from that era and younger....

I loved they movie about your grandfather. I really appreciated the true story of a moral upstanding individual fighting for his family. There are too few quality movies these days about quality people. God Bless your family.

What an all American story!!! I'd never heard of Braddock, but he definitely had the stuff of champions! The film, the time, the people, all true Americana!

I've watched this movie at least 50 times and will probably watch another 50!! James J. Braddock is an inspiration. He makes me want to become a better person and strive to be the best and to handle any problem that comes my way. I wished I could have met him and hope I can find a man with his morals and ethics!

I had never heard of James Braddock until I saw the movie last Saturday here in Brazil but nowadays that I saw it I must say that he was a truly extraordinary man. What a remarkable inheritance! What an inspiration to us all. James J Braddock had the character, integrity and firmness each one and every one of us should do your best for.

I think I hit this site when the movie was released. I had heard of its coming while in London. As a small boy hanging around then Hudson County Park, North Bergen and Cliffside Park; I met Jimmy Braddock. I was always a fan of boxing and was until very recently a member of the Sussex County Ring 34. I had the pleasure of writing an OP Ed piece in the NJ Daily Record on Mr. Braddock, and I have submitted other pieces on NJ Boxers to other papers. I am glad that HBO has been running the movie.

The words "hero" and "superstar" are used loosely, and without being earned these days. James J Braddock was both of these words, and an inspiration to the ordinary man in the street. Rest in peace.

I am from Jersey City, NJ and my grandfather saw your grandfather box in person many times and told me he was one of the best boxers he ever saw fight; I've watched Cinderella Man many times and I must tell you that based on what I saw, my grandfather was 110% right but, not only that your grandfather was a better man outside of the ring and should be commended for that even more. Thank you for sharing part of his life with all of us it truly is a blessing and makes me prund to call myself a New Jerseyian.
