What a courageous man Braddock was! Very inspiring life. A winner in everything. His love for his family and determination in the depression years are extraordinary. Lets not forget the role of his family in his troubled life.

Makes me wonder why our world is so messed up when we have it so easy today. It's good to see when it got tough, Mae and Jimmy hung in instead of throwing in the towel and walking out like so many couples do today. Inspirational. The family should be proud.

What an incredible man. I wish today's boxers had Braddock's integrity. Boxing would still be a great sport. James J. Braddock was just one of those guys that couldn't be beaten.

Thank you for this site and sharing his story.

I watched the movie several months ago, and continue to be inspired by the story. I am soon to be a new mother and am considering "Braddock" as a name for my son. I feel that he would carry a name throughout his life that he would wear like a badge of honor, and a name to live up to. Also, the fact that it is unusual, he could tell the story of the Cinderella Man each time he's asked what it stands for. Thanks for sharing your family's amazing story.

Today I viewed the movie for the 1st time. What a glorious, inspirational movie of a man who symbolizes what was once and could still be great about our nation, his upstanding morals, his Catholicism, love for God and family. I cried, I cheered. Thank you James J Braddock.

Hello Family of Big Jim,

I thank all those responsible for bringing the life of this man to life via the big screen. Half my family came from a pre war II Chicago. Dad was the little brother of my uncle, a tale gunner in a B-17, Grandpa -Chicago cop in the Capone days. Mom is a daughter in the family of San Joaquin Valley grape farmers. So I know the meaning of hard work and what it can achieve. But this story is greater than that. It's greater because it involves all of the above but rests on the heart of this man to go beyond where anyone thought he could go, but himself. Maybe those close to him hoped it was possible, but he was sure of it and that's what made it possible. Being sure of what you know you're made of, then going outside of what people think you can achieve brings such great joy. That's what God made us to do, showing others what faith means.

I like many others have seen this amazing film and hand to find out more about Jimmy Braddock. My father was a boxer in the Navy in the 1950's and I watched boxing with him when I was younger. Jimmy as my Father are both inspirationable-they never give up!

Wow, just watched the DVD for Cindrella man. My father was born in North Bergen and he lived through the depression as a boy. My Grandfather would have worked the docks in Hudson County just like James Braddock. What a hard life. This should be required watching for every man, woman and child in modern America. It doesn't just speak to how fragile life can be or what a struggle it can be at times, it speaks volumes about character and substance. I'm proud to share the same Irish blood with James Braddock.
