I have watched many inspirational movies but I must say this is the best. After watching I just wanted to see what James and his family hence came to this site.

He is truely a wonderful person and what I really value not how he fought his way to become a champ but by the values he lived. I hope the his children will live by the same values. A truely a great Man. Praise the Lord.

Just watched the "Cinderella Man", normally fighting / boxing would not appeal to me but this film was inspiring, I'm delighted that I watched it. Your grandfather was an amazing man to have 'fought' through a period of immense hardship the way he did. He is an inspiration.
Best of good luck.

I did not Know anything about James J. Braddock until the movie "Cinderella Man" came out. I watched this movie and it inspired me so much. I am a college student and our professor told us we had to do our research project on something in the Great Depression I knew right then what I wanted to do... James J Braddock. It was only until I did the research project that I found out how much he really went through in his life. Doing this research project really opened my eyes. This has been the most interesting project I have ever done in school. If you have not watched The Cinderella Man you are truly missing out!! James J. Braddock was a tremendous guy!!

I did not know anything about James J. Braddock until the film Cinderella Man came out. I saw the movie and I consider it the best one I saw in 2005. What an inspiring story about a great family man who triumphs despite tremendous odds! I've asked my family to get me the DVD this holiday season--such a wonderful film deserves a repeat viewing. A big thank you for keeping Jim Braddock's legacy alive through this website!

I watched the movie for the first time on 12/10/06. I wasn't really interested in seeing it since I am not a boxing fan, but I must say that I am so glad I watched it. I found myself jumping up and down and saying "hit him, hit him". I was wanting Jim Braddock to win SO bad.
I really enjoyed the movie not only for the boxing, but for how this movie showed me what a wonderful family man Mr. Braddock was. He would have done anything to feed his family. We take so much for granted these days and sometimes we forget how important family is.
We are so blessed to have food on our tables and a roof over our heads. Mr. Braddock was a hero in my eyes and I would have loved to have met him and his wife Mae. What a great website this is. Thank you for sharing this with the world.

Ron Howard, the director of the movie, summed Jim Braddock up perfectly I thought, when he said that the story wasn't necessarily about a great fighter, it was the story about a GREAT BLOKE. From what I saw in the movie, I second the motion.

I never really followed boxing that much (only when brothers, father and later husband watched); beliving it to be a little barbaric. After watching Cinderella Man and then reading his bio, Jimmy is truly a heroe. His courage and tenacity should be an inspiration to everyone.

Watched the movie and had to find out more. A true star, if James was fighting today he would make a lot of todays fighters feel ashamed of themselves and how they behave. He is an example to all not just sports people.

James Braddock should be an idol and talked about to kids today. A great American/success story, and a great lesson in determination, working hard and believing in yourself. I wish there were tons more like him.

Now this is what I'm talking about, a man with nothing. broke, down on his luck, no money, not much of a job, children to feed, living in the great depression. Did I say nothing, he had guts, and the will to fight, to pull himself up and out of the gutter. Only in America can something like this happen. I hope the rest of you people can appreciate what this man done for his family and himself. Now go out and try to be half the man this guy was, if you got the guts.

I too just finished watching "Cinderella Man". The movie intrigued me so much, it led me to this site. It warms my heart to hear of such a wonderful story of hope during a dreadful period in American History. I am so glad Jim and his family were blessed in the end. God Speed.

Just saw the movie and was truly inspired by the Braddock family story and James' legacy. What a courageous and determined family man and hero for all. The portrayal of the Great Depression made me realize how much I've taken for granted in life and reminded me to count my blessings. Thank you, James and Braddock family.

Mr Braddock was and still is an inspirational man. His courage at a time of great trial and tribulation would have sent many of us to an early grave. His story is one that should be quoted and revered throughout the ages.

I have watched this movie 10 times and enjoy each time I watch it. I am 39 years old with 6 children and haveing a hard time supporting my family. I have had my share of hard times and bad luck. I really never cry in front of my kids but, I cry everytime I watch this movie. Your grandfather was a real hero. He inspires men even today. I never sleep praying every night that my hard times will get better. My greatest inspiration has become watching Cinderalla Man. What an amazing man. Blessings to your entire family.
