James J. Braddock - Guestbook
Welcome to the official guestbook of the James J Braddock website. Due to spam, we have been forced stop guestbook entries.
Its always interesting to delve deeper into the world of history. Braddock was apparently an inspiration in his time and that inspiration continues to live on through his story.
Congrats Cinderella Man...

Have just watched the film about him, what an inspiration that man was to anyone feeling low. I have always been a boxing fan and knew a little about him but now am on-line reading up much more about him. A graet man

I heard of Braddock before but never knew what kind of character he was. I too had a father that lived his life with pride, integrity, and honour. Braddock reminded me of my late father who I just lossed. I know your proud of Braddock, and you should be. Not for his fighting record, thats easy; train like a horse and fight, its almost natural for these guys. But for his guts, heart, and being a gentleman when it was very easy to take shortcuts and become bitter. And that to me is the single biggest fight he ever won, that being life itself. The toughest fight we'll ever have!

To My Uncle Howie Braddock
When I got the call today that you had passed, tears swelled in my eyes and my heart was heavy with sorrow. I know you don't want to see tears of sadness but of Joy. Tears to celebrate your wonderful life not your death.
I will not stand at your grave and weep because I know your not there,
Your up in Heaven looking down. Watching us closely and smiling.
I know that every time the wind blows it is you waving hello.
And when the sunlight shines down I know it is you warming my heart.
Your journey here on earth is now over but a new one has begun. Your with Mom (Mae), Dad (Jimmy), Rosemary (sister) & Jay (brother). They will keep you safe. I have no worries.
I will not stand at your grave and cry because your not there you didn't die. You will live forever in my memories until we meet again.
Love Always,
Your Nephew,

I just seen the movie an I can honestly say it has got to be one of the best movies I have seen! I can't believe I live in the same area where he was from and the park I visited often was named after James J Braddock! I had to see the film to see who this man was....and I am so glad I got to see the movie today!!!! Wow what a fascinating story. I just can't get over it such a wonderful honest and humble man. I am so glad he got the second chance at boxing!!! Most importantly I am so glad you shared this story of this amazing man!!!

Just finiished watching the movie. Got in late, before the fight. My wife asked, "Who wins"? I told her I had just turned it on and asked who was fighting. Baer and Braddock. I immediately said Braddock. I'm not a fight fan, but this answer came from nowhere. I must have read or heard of him somewhere. He was a truely remarkable person, and so were all who lived and persevered through the depression. There were many unsung heroes in that time.

Great Website. Loved the movie. Made me look more into the "Man" himself. My family and I are going through tough times with both my husband and I deploying all the time. I love to see families fighting to stay together no matter what. Keep up the site.

Hey Buddy,
It is a very great thing that you are doing by putting up this great site. Men like your grand father (Jim) who gave hopes for humanity under severe and harsh conditions deserve this honor. You should be a proud person in his family. Keep up your great work.

We have had this movie in our collection for awhile and just watched tonight. I am at a loss for words. What an exceptional man. To not only win the title, but to then go on and join the Military is amazing. Today is Veterans day and I can say that people like Mr. Braddock make me proud to live in this Country.

This man should be cast in iron and replace the statue of liberty as a symbol of what is achievable if you have the heart and desire to succeed. Mr Braddock is a legend.

I knew nothing of this man or his accomplishments until the Cinderella Man movie. Only a select few stories can make a man get a lump in his throat and a tear in his eye. This in definitely one of them. Such a humble and simple family man Mr Braddock seemed. The story is very easy to relate to. I am glad this story was told.

Having watched this film I looked into the life of a man who had tasted success and then had it taken away from him as so many others do. It is a wonderfull story about a determined father who tried to do the best he could for his children. Today there do not seem to be the heroes we all yearn for, merely rich spoilt and badly behaved role models for our children.
Thanks for the story and my best wishes to all of JJ Braddocks family.

I really enjoyed the movie.
But I felt the depiction of Max Baer to be a little unfair.
The guy wasn't a monster. In fact, after killing Campbell in the ring, he helped put the guy's kids through college.

I Had The Movie For Quite Sometime, I Whtched It Today And It Was Such A Good Movie About A Great Man, I Know A little About Boxing Just The Names Like Louis, Ali, Forman , And That Guy Name Tayson , But This Man Braddock Was A Class Act I Just Had To Read More About Him And I Am More Impressed Now With The Man, More Than Just Seeing A Movie, What This Man Did Was Truly Amazeing.

James Braddock was truly a CLASS ACT!!!.What a wonderful human being who so much inspired a nation in a time of such despair. I would have truly been honored to have been able to meet the man.I have so much respect for him not only for being a great fighter but for the love he had for his family. The good Lord put a great champ in his corner and all America should be proud of James Braddock. They just dont make them like him anymore. May God Bless You.

I have seen the movie a few times. And I believe that we all go through our own depression, but we can stand up and fight our own Max Baer and conquer our destiny. Braddock was living proof of that. Thank you.
